For some reason they come off as cocky? And it never looks like they're having fun and enjoying what they do, ironically
If I were to compare fun. and Foster the People, I would choose the latter(tbh I would too based on the type of people they are and the music kinda)
I think I would, too. FTP has a snide, rhetorical wit in their music that fun. doesn't really have. I think if fun. had that sense of tongue-in-cheek sardonicism in their music, it would really benefit, but they're still all right.

At the minute, I'm listening to Empire of the Sun. I love their vibrant and lively indie.
Much better than fun.

Meh, Fun.'s ok. If I had to choose my favorite songs, it would be Some Nights and We Are Young. :3

Still, say what you want about fun., it's a step in the right direction. I mean we've had at least one or two indie flukes hitting the charts about once a year recently, but last year, it became a trend.
Besides fun., there was Gotye, Mumford and Sons, Imagine Dragons, The Lumineers, Ed Sheeran - I'm not saying they're particularly great, but I think it shows signs of change in the pop scene. Where that will lead to, I don't know. Maybe this will build up into the emergence of one solitary band/artist that will revolutionize pop music as we know it, and change things up, for better or for worse.

I like Imagine Dragons.

My main problem with that is I don't like any of those.

Out of a lot of that, I've found the regular pop/rap artists more listenable than a lot of that stuff

Really? I didn't realize you disliked it that much. Well, I agree there's certainly much better indie out there that goes widely unnoticed, but this might just lead to better stuff.

Yeah, I absolutely cannot stand most of that stuff.
I can stand the Foster the People song and the Gotye one to an extent, but besides that it's just really grating to me.

Gotye and Foster the People were like the only ones I had heard off that list and I don't like Gotye at all really.

Yeah.
Pop music is generally better than the punk rock screamo stuff this kid keeps telling people to listen to.
also mentioning any form of (non)belief in your signature just looks obnoxious veggie

Of course the word is obnoxiousness. Sometimes, though, I feel that the standard words in English just are not enough!

Well, you're wrong!
Listen to real indie stuff and maybe you'll be worthy of them.

I don't care what other people like, as long they don't make me hear it (and I subsequently don't make them hear things I like that they don't).
