Hi
The mod is called Gloop and so far it just has two new categories (one of which is empty and the other has two blocks in), a few new blocks, and a new default sprite, nothing major. But I'm looking for people who are interested in making this mod something new, and brilliant! All coders (squeak coders as opposed to scratch coders), graphics people and ideas people welcome. Current ideas for new features/blocks/graphics e.t.c:
Blocks that represent a single command/word/phrase of squeak that can be used to make blocks or just as an easy way into learning it.
Style change (more contrast, more colourful, more striking).
I would say: "here is a link to the mod so that you can edit it", but so far, weebly won't let me put it as a download because it's too big and I've got dropbox but I don't know how to use it. Any help with the mod or the problem with sharing is appreciated. Thanks!

In that case, two requests:
Do you have any idea how I can put a copy on the internet so that you can download, or send it to you, since you can't put emails in messages.
and
If you look in the block library in control there are three blocks, do, reverse and scramble. I'm trying to combine them to make one c block with a dropdown list.

Thanks so much. I've just got to the stage where I've taken everything that I want to from the block library and added everything that I can think of, so I really need to be able to share it bfore it can get any further. Would you be interested in helping to develop it?

In that case, I should have it on mediafire by about Thursday. The new feature that it would be good if you could help with is blocks that are just one phrase of Squeak. There would have to be about 4 new categories (which keeps messing it up whenever I try to add more) and many more blocks. It could be done like panther's cyob where people can code there own blocks, mixed with byob's elements editor (the bit where you can change the squeak for each block). Thanks!

Let me explain my overall intentions. GLOOP stands for General Language Object Orientated Programming. It (hopefully) will eventually end up with a reasonably comprehensize dictionary of blocks for each language. I'm hoping to get someone who knows each of the popular languages (c++, VB, python, java e.t.c.) and get each one to make a plugin that scratch calls upon whenever a block different language is called. People could then (in theory) combine languages, and the simpler but slower languages could be used for the bits that don't need as much speed and would take up too much time to make whereas the more complex, faster languages would be used for the bits that require speed. This is probably way harder than I can imagine but I think that it should be possible. What do you think of the overall plan and do you know any programming languages other than squeak?

Or is that too complicated to even dream of finishing a seventeenth of it?

It is at http://www.mediafire.com/?3edvi6f0c2n1e. I have taken the scratchskin and exe out because they still have the scratch cat icon in them. Do you have mac or windows? I'm going to be woking on other things for a while now so just one question. Is it possible to do localised turbo and if so how? I mean is it possible to do
local turbo on repeat until <something> check something mathematical end local turbo offso that it doesn't affect anything else?

I'm pretty good at modding scratch.
*bragging alert*
I even have YouTube videos on Scratch hacking.

O.K. well, I've taken it off mediafire now (it contained the scratch cat) but do either of you know how to:
Do a 'toggle turbo' block,
local turbo if its possible,
or how to change the overall colour scheme (like make the scripting pane be black with vertical green lines?

For the toggle turbo block, I think there is a "set stepping speed" block in the block library. To change the colour of the scripting pane, you need to edit the Scratch skin.

I tried changing the scratchskin but it just glitched.

That's weird. It works fine every time I have done it.

Do you do much art? Because if you do I was wondering whether you would mind editing the scratchskin and loading it on a copy of the source code, then putting it on some kind of sharing website because I'm rubbish at art and scratch glitches every time I try to change the scratchskin.

Actually, I don't like art much.

In that case, do you know anyone who does like art and would be willing to help change the skin to a mechanical theme? If not then if anyone who does like art and wouldn't mind doing the above sees this then please post because I've got some ideas but I can't draw for toffee.

Then could you and caakitty work together to make a mechanical themed version of the source code (pistons instead fo the seporator lines, a new top for the hat block, wires coming from booleans and reporters e.t.c.) and then upload it to a sharing website. Estile can you post ideas for blocks and any code to go with them and then I'll add them to my current version of gloop, then when machinespray and caakitty are finished, I'll transfer all the new blocks over onto their version. How does that seem?
when gf clicked repeat until <(timer) > [10]> go to [machinespray v] go to [estile v] go to [caakitty v] end broadcast [gratitude v] and wait
