Ahh, I'm having so much writer's block right now!  How's everyone else doing?

I get writers block a lot. It's really frustrating. Just try your best to push the block out of the way!

I'm trying to write a book separate from the contest, but I don't have writers block on it just yet.

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

I'm just going my own little way.
No ideas here, I'm trying to create a what if question with enough gravity to bring all my little idea asteroids together to form a planet.
Like my imagery? It doesn't really fit in and was brainlessly random wasn't it.
I liked it anyway.

My brain keeps wondering off to a really grim character I invented a while ago for something else. I don't want a grim person. This isn't writers block. This is the opposite. It's when you have too many ideas and you can't organise, partly because you can't tell which ones are which until your in a maths lesson.

Maths lesson! Brilliant! Thank you me! Scuse me, writing to do!  big_smile
I'm serious! I have a real idea involving a maths lesson. You could stage anything in a maths lesson. The air's so still and stuffy, and the atmosphere's so stable and bored you could do nuclear experiments in it without heavy water to stabilise the atoms and stuff like that that I don't entirely get.

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

After each round ends and me and Shadow see your work, I'll add all your stories to the NomoReader, so we can see them all and read them all!

@Shadow: Please don't hold a grudge against me, I'm not using me e-reader for Arabian Nights, I'm using it for this competition instead. Is that ok?

Do you like writing?: Oh yes! I want to be a writer when i grow up if not a muscian.
Do you think you can write a story in 30 days? (If not, don't join. We don't want to overwhelm you...): Definetly.
Do you have a set plot and some characters? (You don't have to, but it really helps): Already got an idea!

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

Wait. Do we start writing now?

I have a great idea. A teenager wakes up from a deep sleep and finds that he's in some alien world. He notices that he can somehow materialize a mech in midair, which he thinks is creepy. However, that robot can shoot lasers and stuff. So, he tries to go back to Earth. But things aren't always what they seem.
DUN

DUN!!!!

But seriously. Do we start writing now?

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

My idea involving a maths lesson was boring, abstract and hardto write.
I'll think up something else. When did you say the deadline was? I'm pretty sure I've asked this already. Oh well.

Idea!  Yes!  (Even though it's actually my cousins default book starter)
Fall asleep in school, but instead of dreaming, teleport to an alternate dimension!  From there, I can change physics as much as I want!  (Happy me.  And I can make it realistic-ish.  Maybe)

Do you like writing: of course! Whenever I'm inspired I start to write. I have a zillion pencils and pens and I've filled a lot if notebooks
Do you think you can write a story in 30 days? Depends. If it has to be as thick as say, the eldest, I'm out, but if it can be 10-20 pages, then ok!
Do you have a set plot and characters? No not yet.. Still thinking

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

I've gone for the stargate/hitchikers guide to the galaxy influence route, which isnt somewhere I've been before, it's a very weird part of sci fi to be in. You wouldn't guess where it came from.
Well, the hitchikers guide bit you might.
If you've read or heard or seen the hitchikers guide to the galaxy anyway.
And I haven't copied. Just recieved influence from. Nothing wrong with that, just look at the inheritance cycle!

Re: Write to DEATH - A challenging competition for avid writers

2 Questions about th e theme:
-Is it okay if I have a half-robot, half man character? He has  robot arms, lega, half of face, etc. Would that count as a robot?
-Different Planets? Or just Earth a nd one other planet?

Thanks in Advance
