Now, I don't get the point of saying 'don't say anything negative'. Isn't that just a one-sided discussion? Therefore not even a worthwhile discussion at all?
That said...
Nicki Minaj is a pretty bad judge:
Her critiques usually aren't very good. She is either to harsh or too gushy. Half of her 'critiques' are just her saying 'I am obsessed with you, I love you, you look great, I love my little ladybug' and nothing of actual value. The other half is her saying harsh, blunt criticisms in an attempt to be the 'tough' judge, which doesn't make sense considering the previous thing I said. She is obnoxious and is constantly arguing with the judges. She makes it all about her, as opposed to being about the contestants like it should be. This isn't the Nicki Minaj show, its American Idol. Lastly, she seems very biased and often stubborn - during the auditions she would support anyone who did her songs or complimented her, and throughout the competition, would stubbornly support them even if they didn't do so well. Pretty much, if she likes someone, she will never shut up about them until she gets her way.
She seemed like a bad choice to me from the start because she is such a new artist (I think the judges should be a panel of older celebrities whose fame is dying/dead, or are just well-respected) and no offense, isn't a very good singer. On a show about musical talent, someone who does this weird talk-rap thing and uses autotune to make trashy music isn't very fit for the show if you ask me.

Other than Ms. Minaj, this season is pretty good, we have a nice selection of contenstants. Its not just pop/modern, which makes me glad, there is tons of R&B and Soul people, a few Country artists, and some Alternative type people.
I like Burnell, Lazaro, Charlie, Nick, and Curtis. I can't remember much of the girls off the top of my head. Except for Zoanette, who I don't understand how she even got past auditions. Her voice is very unpleasant in my opinion.

The reason I said negatives in general is because there was a lot of off-topic arguing. As long as you have a good reason to support it, it is fine if you say why something/someone is negative. I thought it was weird how they went straight to the top 10 instead of top 12. I also don't like the fact they had no wild cards, because sometimes somebody deserves a second chance.

NO!!! Devin got voted off :'( The judges should have used their save imo.
