Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Any time just make sure they're happy.
Yeah memories of the first series,so firestar/heart/paw growing up etc b
looking happy anyway.
Maybe the memories in a thought bubble while we animate him singing to the stars next to it.
Illjust go listen to the song and organise some thoughts.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Here is a suggested plan of scenes set to the lyrics. It was written to be changed.
(just as he begins to sing, he flops his fringe over his eyes)
The faces all around me they don't smile they just crack (scenes of cats looking dismal)
Waiting for our ship to come but our ships not coming back (look to the stars)
We do our time like pennies in a jar
What are we saving for [x2] (look back on the old forest)

There's a smell of stale fear that's reeking from our skins. (cats looking paranoid, guarding)
The drinking never stops because the drinks absolve our sins shot of singing to the mountains ahead, with the stars over them.)
We sit and grow our roots into the floor
But what are we waiting for? [x2]
(for every chorus, we do him singing in 1/4 of the screen and memories in the other 3/4)
[chorus:]
So give me something to believe
Cause I am living just to breathe
And I need something more
To keep on breathing for
So give me something to believe

Something's always coming you can hear it in the ground (cats cower from bulldozer shadows)
It swells into the air
With the rising (all of this bit- bulldozers demolishing forest while cats watch distressed)
Rising sound
And never comes but shakes the boards and rattles all the doors
What are we waiting for [x2] (look to the stars for this line every time)

[chorus] (memories)

I am hiding from some beast (looking around scared)
But the beast was always here (looks and sees black mirror version of himself looking evil)
Watching without eyes (evil imagination version blinks)
Because the beast is just my fear
That I am just nothing (clone vanishes, firestar floppyfringes and looks down, looking guilty)
Now its just what I've become (looks down at himself and sings to his paws for this bit)
What am I waiting for
Its already done

Oh

[chorus] (final memories involving meeting with starclan when he became a leader)

there are some instrumental bits. Put memories in there too. Shall I go ahead with a rough sketches video that illustrates what I mean? That can be our base.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Oh @ humhum memories of first kill, making friends, becoming a warrior, first meeting forest cats, etc. Early ones. The later bits of the first series don't have many happy bits.
I'll put it all with the rough sketches.

Ohmahgersh I LOVE your idea!! I can see it forming already. You have the song, right? I don't, and I have no way to put it into a starter project...

I can't wait to start this! (This is my first time animating with lip-syncing, so I don't know how those parts will turn out  tongue )

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

I'm doing awful art, really quickly, setting it to the edited version of the song, so we have an idea for each scene. The sketces thing will probably turn out an amv in their own right, just an awful one.
I edited the song by lowering the quality, and mixing in an almost silent track of White noise (yknow, static sound) to avoid copyright issues. I'm about 2 minutes through at the moment, but I haven't had much time. Britain has snow. Lots of it. A week before Easter. In march. That's weird for us. Worryingly weird.  hmm

Lol! I live in a place where we're lucky to have less than an inch (or even .5 of an inch) of snow one time a year. XD Take your time. This AMV will turn out to be really cool!

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

This looked cool so I thought I should join!

Why would you like to join? Because it looks awesome and you only got a few members here.
How active are you (--/10)? Around 8 or 9
What role(s) do you want (No lead roles)? Music and maybe programming
How good do you consider yourself at that role (--/10) ? Music - 7-9, programming - 6-7
Example of a good project showing skills in wanted role:Music : Cats in animation
Programming - Unfinished game
Example of best project: really don't know  tongue
A little about yourself *This is optional* (You can show off, or type whatever you want here):
I'm really friendly, I'm a ninja elf, I love music and I would like to become a musician when I'm older. I play drums, violin, bassoon, percussion and piano. I run my own collab on scratch, own a shop alongside starscream and enjoy helping out!

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Why would you like to join: I like a good collaboration.  big_smile
How active are you (--/10): 8-9
What role(s) do you want (No lead roles): The Flames
How good do you consider yourself at that role (--/10): 5-7
Example of a good project showing skills in wanted role: Doctah Knockout's Style, Soundwave Defense (needed some help with scripting, though), and SEG4EP (used tutorial for scrolling, but all other scripting was by me).
Example of best project:  The three above  big_smile
A little about yourself *This is optional* (You can show off, or type whatever you want here):  I'm a Decepticon wannabe who makes primarily Transformers projects.  I'm an ametuer animator (though some of my friends think I'm great) who thinks I have a long way to go before being as good as someone like Astro.  I prefer to either be called Starscream or Dark Surge, and I have a pretty good sense of humor (so I'll probably make a joke now and then  lol ).

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Yeah. The sketches won't though. The nicest person in the world might go as far as to say 'well it's interesting' or the nicest art critic in the world might say 'it's a good impression' but anyone else might just say 'at least I can tell what it all is'.
I am dreading lip syncing. I tried it once. I'm awful at it.
I'm practicing for it though. For when we have to.
On e ice done all the sketches hopefully we'll all have a good Idea of what to do.
Humhum, you can do the base art for each shot of characters, Berber the backgrounds (right?)

Argh! New people! Sorry, just surprised! Look through the other posts to see what we're doing, and listen to belive by the bravery (YouTube it) and then decide whether or not you still want to join. I'm not trying to put you off, I'm just saying see if you like what we're doing and if you do get familiar with it.

@Pinnipediator: Yup, I'm ready to do whatever for the AMV. Did you finish the sketches? It's okay if they're bad, at least we'll have a base. .3.

I'm so glad this collab is revived and can't wait to watch it grow again.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

No idea. I'm finishing the sketches base, and then we'll need artists to create art for each scene. Then we'll need loads of animating to animate the art and then lip sync (argh! Noooo!) the animations. Then bring it together, animation choreographing, if you get what I mean. Yeah. All that.
I've done all the sound editing and stuff that we'll need.
I just need to finish these sketches. Sorry I'm holding you guys all up.
Have you new cool people listened to the song?
We're using belive by the bravery to make an amv of warrior cats, in the third book second season, where the clans are migrating forests and they are waiting for a sign of where to go.
Have you read warrior cats? It isn't esssential, but it is useful. You must listen to the song too. I researched and found the meaning of the song on page 3 of this thread if you want a look at that too, and there are quite a few copies of the lyrics on this thread if you want a look at them....
Yeah, for now just get yourselves aquainted with what we're doing.

No, I'm sorry.  I meant ametuer as in Scratch (I still think I'm pretty terrible at it.  lol )

Can you tell me about Flash?  Is it pretty beginner friendly? (Also, ramble all you want; I'm a pretty good listener... sometimes... it depends...  lol )

I was a fan of warrior cats so yes I have! Shame you finished the music. I don't mind doing so graphics or animating (I'm not amazing but I'll get there!) and yes I like the choice of song!

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Why would you like to join?
Bored, got free time, and want to gain some recognition.

How active are you (--/10)?
2. I tend to come on at weekends, but that's about it.

What role(s) do you want (No lead roles)?
Coding and pixel art is what I'm good at, depends on my mood, lol.

How good do you consider yourself at that role (--/10) ?
Coding 8/10   pixel art 7.5/10, depends on inspiration...

Example of a good project showing skills in wanted role:
Meh only one! not really, just only one uploaded.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/xlk/3202756

Example of best project:
lol,  http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/xlk/3202756

A little about yourself *This is optional* (You can show off, or type whatever you want here):
This post appears very unimpressive, yes, but, with good ideas, I can make things work pretty smoothly.
And by pixel art, I mean 32x32 and smaller in general, depending on what is being drawn.
Duno, this just seemed like a colab. that had potential to actually get things done, so got interested.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Starscream, flash is a huge piece of software, mainly animating but also has a built in programming language. Most of the games you'll find on your average game site will be made on flash. You might have heard of flash player. That plays flash projects.
Flash is hugely expensive and is part of the adobe creative suite. I can never remember whether Photoshop or flash is more expensive, but they're two of the biggest pieces of software adobe makes.
The three big expensive famous pieces of software by adobe are
acrobat
Photoshop
flash.
There are other pieces of software that view files made in those softwares that are smaller. And have free earlier versions.
Adobe reader
adobe flash player

Anyway.
The sketches are finished but not uploaded
(feel free to sigh at me, devasted that I'm such a disorganised fail)
excuse of the day: the laptop I make projects on doesn't have Internet so I'll have to transfer them very soon (tomrrow probably)
