Yeah, it is a game, and yeah, we were on artsy stuff. Berberberber and I were just bouncing off ideas. Maybe we could do that after the animations and all that.  smile

Well, the game is told in cutscenes, so it still goes with the theme...

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Hmmmmm.
Let's do that after. We should do an amv at some point. I've written loads of music. If I write a song, what genre? And what about?
I can't really sing or rap, but I play classical guitar, which is suprisingly useful for odd rock, gentle pop and stuff like that. I mentioned patternmusic, I have a synthesizer that can do quite a bit.......

If we do an AMV, can it be to songs already written?

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

I spose. It'll take a lot of choosing what song though.
I have weird music tastes.
And I mean weird. Ever heard of The Bravery? Or Dr Feelgood? If you have somehow heard of both of them, you'll get just how weird my tastes are.

Nope and nope... But I'm looking them up on Youtube right now. Who knows? Maybe they're awesome and not weird.

I love belive! Try hot pursuit by the bravery, and the dandy by the bravery too if you liked belive, you might like them more, otherwise, if Berber likes it too, we're awesome to go!

Cool! I'll check them out. So if we do the AMV, what will the main characters be? Cats, which are SUPER popular, or humans, which I'm terrible at drawing but are more realistic?

Why not stuff like Pokemon, that way we won't have to worry about being terrible at drawing?

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

What gets popular? Cats.
What's easy? Pokemon. All the wrong questions. They're not as important as the biggest question that we need to ask. Need, not should.
What is the meaning of life?

Okay, no, I'm kidding. The important question we should be asking is
'What suits the song?'
I'm assuming belive is the popular choice. I'll research it's lyrics, and what it's about, and how and why it was inspired, according to (hopefully) the person who actually wrote it.

With that info we can decide.
Ps I was thinking rainbow ponies and cats would go down well.
Or up as hopefully the case may be.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Here are the lyrics.

The faces all around me they don't smile they just crack
Waiting for our ship to come but our ships not coming back
We do our time like pennies in a jar
What are we saving for [x2]

There's a smell of stale fear that's reeking from our skins.
The drinking never stops because the drinks absolve our sins
We sit and grow our roots into the floor
But what are we waiting for? [x2]

[chorus:]
So give me something to believe
Cause I am living just to breathe
And I need something more
To keep on breathing for
So give me something to believe

Something's always coming you can hear it in the ground
It swells into the air
With the rising
Rising sound
And never comes but shakes the boards and rattles all the doors
What are we waiting for [x2]

[chorus]

I am hiding from some beast
But the beast was always here
Watching without eyes
Because the beast is just my fear
That I am just nothing
Now its just what I've become
What am I waiting for
Its already done

Oh

[chorus]

I'll find out more about how it came about and what it was written about.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Okay, I'm back with a definition, and I'm so glad I didn't have to come back and say, you don't want to know let's choose another song.

It's about people wasting away be because they're waiting for a sign that there is a meaning to life.
In a nutshell.

Here's the extremely detailed reference I used if you want any more:

http://rapgenius.com/The-bravery-believe-lyrics

All most amvs use is the nutshell. Really though, you don't want to go into any more detail. This is scratch. Any more detail than what I've typed here would make us seem predjudist against religion as a whole. So yes, our music video does definitely need to damp it down a little.
Actually, warrior cats would be brilliant, waiting for a real sign from I don't know, starclan. A bit stereotypical though. Cat art=front page formula is something I fight against. We'll have to add a twist to the art, maybe super realistic? Maybe going as far as not manga like everyone else does? I don't know but we definitely need something to push our (suggested -remember just because I've been organised doesn't mean we have to fo it my way) art out in front of everyone else's.  smile

Long post. Two long posts. *pant* *pant* *pant*    hmm   smile

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Is it okay if we do lovey dovey messages? Like, main boy person/cat/pokemon/I don't even know anymore has just broken up, blah, blah, blah (XP And at one point he's staring up at the starry night sky, thinking about his decisions .3.) and he becomes depressed or very lonely, wondering what the purpose of his life would be. He doesn't know what to do anymore... What he needs is something to believe, something to follow. The main charrie then glances back at the past and remembers all the good times he had with his former girlfriend. He finally goes out and meets his old girl and they come back together.

Alternative ending: He goes out and meets a new girl and they live happily ever after  smile

So, at the end, it's just a sunset and two shadows, holding hands.

Pretty weird, I know. (REALLY wanna do cats, but if it's not what you guys want, we don't have to) We don't have to do this story line if we don't have to. I just want to get the ball rolling.

I think we could spend a lot on the memories part, and maybe at the beginning it could be night.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

I was thinking a cat whose life is falling apart and he she's looking to the sky wondering if starclan is really there. That way we can really milk the memories bit and suit the song.

That's cool! So, opening scene: Cat looking up at sky, then fades into memories. :3
Wanna start...?

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Sure.
Here's a useful twilight sparkle-style checklist:
do initial skethes for whole thing as a basic storyboard.
Do base art for each individual shot take scene thingy
animate base art (me)
add, prepare, and lip sync music
check over and publish!

We'll probably need to lower the quality of the music somehow so we don't get a copyright issue. I can do that. I have lots of copies of the song around. I love the bravery.
If I prepare the song for stuff, humhum, can you do initial sketches to storyboard it, one of you two fill out the art scene by scene so one of the other of us can animate and the other lip sync, where there are lips to sync.  smile
basically, for now, I'm sound editing, humhum is storyboarding. Berber, errr, yeah, I knew I'd forgot something. Sorry, there'll be something I've forgotten.

Grr.

Anyway, I have no idea about cats, or warriors, or anything.  I can make backgrounds, though.

@Berberberber: StarClan: Dead cats. Actually, that's basically everything you need to know. The AMV is basically like a human thing, except it is portrayed through cats.

I'll get some main character references out soon.

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

Memories. Hmm.
Couldn't it be set in the third book of the second series of warriors, where the clans are moving from the old forest because of the humans, and some people are beginning to give up hope, and remembering the the old forest. That way, the incredibly iconic firestar could be the irritatingly floppy fringed singer!
People would love us for that.

In that book, they are waiting for a sign, for which direction to go. That suits the song perfectly!  big_smile

Re: Phoenix Productions 2: Igniting Inspiration!

And Berber, can you do lots of photorealistic backgrounds of stars, mountains, looming views from the foot of a mountain at night, if the clan migration idea is the one we're going with.
Oh, and lots of pictures of a beautiful forest in the summer.
They don't have to be photorealistic but it would be cool.
