We love scratch 1.4! It's fun, and matches our typical needs. I know that the new one has MOTION DETECTION MUMBO-JUMBO and stuff, but 1.4 is good enough! Whenever I try to even OPEN a project on Scratch 2.0 It doesn't load the page! I use a pretty fast computer, and I"m NOT going to pay 800+ dollars for a new computer!
2.0 is laggy when loading.
It's somewhat like facebook!
It's making programming a little TOO simple. Programming isn't simple- if we grow up and try to be computer programmers, scratch would be so easy, this "other stuff" would be SUPER hard.
Notify the mods on scratch about this, and hope for the best.
Keep 1.4! who's with me?

You can still use 1.4 even after the release of 2.0.

Scimonster- what about the site? Can they keep that?
I know they've been working hard on it, and I thought it was cool, but I love scratch 1.4! 2.0 has great new stuff, but now the pages can't load! I think I might quit if they delete the old site.
Have fun with losing members.

1. How is programming simpler? I find 2.0 to be more complicated, with concepts like cloning and block creation (which, of course, are completely optional).
2. They won't be keeping the old site. While a bit unfortunate, we've got to move on. If you really want to stay with Scratch, you can try and acclimatise yourself to the change; if you really want to leave, no-one's stopping you. It's always a bit saddening whenever people leave, but it's your own choice to do so.
3. What browser are you using? And why don't you report that on the 2.0 forums, so they can make it better?

Yes, ST will not finish 2.0 because 20 people are going to quit. Nice try, what i've learned in life is no matter what you do someone is going to hate it.
Just deal with it or quit, nobody is stopping you.

If the pages aren't loading for you, then we certainly want to know about it so we can fix it. It is a work in progress and there are going to be problems with it - hang in there! Please go to the Bugs and Glitches forum of the Beta site forums and tell us what browser and operating system you are using.
Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to maintain two sites for very long - so it's really important that we get the new site running as well as we can - we certainly don't want to lose members over some small bug!

Yeah. For every person not wanting 1.4 to go, you have 500 excited for the new one.

Scratch on.
What? You can just make it look like the old site with Stylish...

Sorry, the ST isn't going to trash 3+ years of work because 2% of the users don't like it. The most they'll do is offer a 1.4 download.
Don't support.
I support keeping 1.4.

If you want to quit I don't see anything wrong with that. It's your decision, and most likely not going to affect most of us. If you're just saying that to threaten the Scratch Team to keep 1.4, it won't work.

I am very excited about Scratch 2.0. The create blocks feature will be awesome, not to mention the cool, new site. I really hope you guys ( the scratch team) keep the online version of Scratch. I tried it out, and even though I can't save projects ( I was not joined soon enough to log into beta) I can now develop Scratch games completely on my tab, without need of computer.

I am super excited about the new blocks and all that, but other then that, I don't like 2.0.

You, and the others , just can't move on! With your ''nostigalic moments'' well , everything changes. MOVE ON! You did nothing , they worked 3+ years on it.

Um... I'm pretty sure the Scratch Team doesn't care about the number of members they have. It's not like most sites where they get paid more with more members.
Sure, it'd be nice to have more people to answer questions and stuff, but I'm pretty sure more people will join than leave because of 2.0.

First of all, you sound kind of spoiled when you talk like that. Like you're trying to threaten the Scratch Team through the internet.
Secondly, at Scratch's least popular times, there are 100 Scratchers per Scratcher that becomes inactive. While I'm sure the Scratch Team is disappointed that you hate 2.0 because you aren't accustomed to change, frankly, it doesn't matter to them because you and everyone who doesn't like 2.0 quitting barely affects the size of the community.
Have fun without Scratch.

I know what you're feeling. It seems that you love Scratch 1.4 so much that you don't want it to go, right?
Well, I feel the same. But that's what life is for... Sometimes we have to leave some things behind to keep on moving.
About 2.0, don't worry. One day we'll get used to it. Also, it's not finished yet, so the Scratch Team is still fixing all the bugs...
Just don't quit because of the new website... Even though I don't know you very well, I do care about you.

+1
1.4 will be available until 3.0. Why leave? Sure, 2.0 isn't very appealing at first, but surely it's better than nothing? Remember when you started with Scratch for the very first time. It was uncomfortable. Why should the transition to 2.0 be different?
With all due respect, I really think we should get used to being in an uncomfortable environment. Rarely do you learn much without hardship.
The transition to Scratch 2.0 is only a fly above a sea of sharks. I'm pretty sure that, if you decided that you would not let the transition to 2.0 hinder you, it wouldn't. It's just a new interface.
3 years of hard work fighting the sharks on the ST's part. And you're afraid of the fly.
