I've watched part of Hana-Kimi (the Taiwanese version) and My Boss My Hero and wow, they are amazing, all humans should watch comedic Asian dramas.

My sister made me watch part of Secret Garden with her (which is Korean) but she ended up finishing it by herself hmm

What dramas have you watched?

Secret Garden is the best oh my god i love it so so so much

boys over flowers is a classic that is the first drama every girl watches to start the road of asian dramas. i also like 49 Days and You're Beautiful. 49 days is very sad though but its also hilarious and romantic and wonderful, like any other korean drama.

lol you don't need to learn mandarin, most of them have subtitles
plus! you could also learn japanese or korean because those are both countries that have very good dramas (the ones I mentioned were my boss my hero and secret garden, respectively).

yeah my sister was crying about her feelings after she finished it but I only saw the first part, which was kinda weird, so i dunno what happened. I think the girl goes into a coma or something? (which is good because she can't really act that well).

aagh hana kimi only has part of the first episode with english subtitles on youtube, so i'm watching it with spanish subs but my chinese sucks so I usually end up trying to figure out what the spanish is.

The ones I've watched in their entirety are "My Fair Princess" (the new version) and "The Adventures of Du Lala"; they do have their comedic moments, but have a tendency to fall towards the more serious side in terms of the storyline. [Ah, gotta love the ICN TV channel... absolute access to a huge ton of Chinese dramas with English subtitles, along with Chinese documentaries, music videos, and animated shows. big_smile ]

you don't need to learn mandarin, most of them have subtitles (I always have subtitles on but that's only to assist with the English I'm hearing, because like, not having the actual sounds messes with me)

if you're willing to just take them in stride and not really care about production values or realistic developments then they will absolutely change your life go watch one

btw, don't try and find them on youtube, usually drama sites like gooddrama.net have the full thing and you don't need to hunt down every part of an episode
