Now that Scratch is getting bigger, I thought it would be a step up if Scratch had it's own domain name instead of subbing off of mit.edu.
I see that www.scratchon.org is still available.
Any other suggestions? Ideas? Opinions?

It looks like it does have a domain name.

well, it is definitely not an organization. and it costs more money for a new domain name. And I have memorized scratch.mit.edu.

It costs like 10 bucks a year for a domain. Their server costs must be much higher than that.

Since the Scratch Team has an operating budget of about thirty-seven cents per year (or so they say), and the work they do on the site and the program itself comes from the bottom of their hearts, I don't think there's any reason to change the domain name. When you Google "Scratch", our website comes to the top of the page. Besides, a ".com" domain suggests the site is trying to sell us something or advertise, which isn't the case. Plus the idea of being a .mit.edu subdomain makes us all look very intelligent
