I heard a song by the Lumineers on the radio today. I didn't particularly like it but it was very different from most things I hear on the radio and I respect them very much for reaching an impressive level of popularity for a genre that's generally sub-mainstream

But yes. I'm assuming no one else corrected it since not everyone's main/mother language is English and nitpicking things like that isn't going to particularly help them. Nice explanation, though. "Is" is for singular things, "Are" would be for multiple
