Well, I'm assuming the program. The browser doesn't matter there, besides RAM and CPU usage.
Try reinstalling it.

+1 to reinstalling. Windows asks you to delete the shortcut when it can't find the program.

I am also facing same problem, upto now i am thinking there is a problem in browser, so i changed my browser also, but no use. So now i want to reinstalling my ram and cpu.

Well, technically you can. However, it's quite a bit more difficult than reinstalling software and has more chance of permanently damaging something inside your computer if you don't know what you're doing.

1. No browser problem, because he's talking about Scratch.exe
2. You can reinstall RAM, if you get new RAM, but I wouldn't get a new CPU. It'll be a pain in the back.
3. RAM and CPU have almost NOTHING to do with Scratch closing.
4. Just reinstall it.
