Nice ones, but I'm not convinced about http://i48.tinypic.com/imtc7q.png. Maybe :P and :P;old? Also, someone once made a combo of and , that would be cool.
What would you change about it?

About that, actually, you have to make the smilies inline-block divs.

I love them! I think they really fit into the new metro theme that the internet is going crazy about (well, mainly Microsoft sites)
In my opinion these would really fit in well with Scratch 2.0's new forum design because of their simplicity. Their implementation should also be really easy so I don't see a problem.
Although jvvg did say above that he liked the old ones more, I'm going to push for us to use these on Mod Share and Futuresight (and also a brand new secret project that we're not allowed to tell anyone about). (oops).
It just so happens that I own a copy of Photoshop CS6, so I can easily turn the files into scalable vector files from the PSD you linked us to. How would you like the credits? Would a little text somewhere at the bottom of some page be enough?

I'd like, for example, a topic "new smilies courtesy of Laternenpfahl" or something like that

We put them up on Mod Share temporarily to see what people think. If we decide to use them, we'll make the topic

they added new smilies

You should be using these ones.

Laternenpfahl, we decided to keep the emoticons given a 100% consensus in the Mod Share poll so far. Unfortunately it seems that the PSD files you linked us to are not actually vector. Does a vector version exist, or have they simply been made with raster tools (which wouldn't be surprising since it's Photoshop)?

i prefer the original ones simply due to the shading (and the lack of it on the new ones)

I used (PS6) paths and shapes....
