There's this one episode of Animaniacs when they're detectives looking for a pigeon treasure.
Nurse: "Give me the bird!"
Dot: "We can't, this is a family show."
What does that even mean? (i'm not so innocent but I don't know what that means)

OK, I'm confused. Is Ratchet and Clank a game or an adult's jokebook?

just because there's an alternative demographic doesn't negate the target demographic

But the children aren't an alternative demographic.
They make up 70, maybe 60 (if the enlighteners are lucky) percent of the community, and therefore generate 70% of the profit from the games.

How immature do you think kids are nowadays?
Also plenty of 13 year olds will get that joke, don't act like you're all special.
