Grammar nazi? Yes.  tongue
Jerk? Nah.

telling someone to "Research the proper usage of colloquial phrases" when the only "colloquial phrase" that they criticised actually made sense counts as a jerk in my book
and it's not like grammar nazi is a free pass to being a jerk anyway

On an actually relevant matter, he has siblings, you know, so he can't spend all his free time on the computer for the reasons listed in his post. Scratch programming takes time. Lots of time.

I did that on purpose , do you think I don't know how to write?

Re: For anyone working with the scratch co.

Can we please get this thread back on topic?

While it's nice to let somebody politely know when they have made a grammar or spelling error - it's really not necessary or desirable to make it the entire focus of your post.  It has a tendency to derail the thread and create an unfriendly tone.  So, if you happen to be posting to the topic anyway, you might politely mention it in passing - otherwise it's really not worth posting.

That does not explain the capitalization or punctuation.

Uhh, I don't see how it doesn't.
You don't need to learn proper capitalization or punctuation to speak most of English.

The rule about capitalizing words at the beginning of sentences also applies in Dutch, Q.E.D.

So? You could perfectly understand what soniku was trying to say. you don't need to be such a grammar nazi.

Okay then, revising. Research the proper structure of said phrases. There. All fixed. Well, at least, unlike the people below, I know you read at least some of it. That's a start.

I was trying to make a point. I wasn't being a grammar nazi just to be a grammar nazi, which you would have known if you read my post (now go read it. You have no excuse.). This applies to you, too, Paddle2See.

What I believe you were thinking:
"*reads post* Hey look, this person is being a grammar nazi! Let me--"
Two possibilities from here:
"attack him/her without even looking at what he/she wrote!"
or
"ignore what he/she wrote because I'm so angry at him/her!"

What's wrong with that:
In a word, everything. I see the first listed possibility as horribly rude (even more rude in my eyes than I might have been in my post had I just cut it off after the quote), and the second as completely stubborn. Honestly, people! If you're going to get angry at me, can you at least save it until after you've finished reading?

By the way, soniku3, why would you do it on purpose?

I did read it, and that doesn't make it any less rude.

Stop with the grammar thing, guys...

We're on the internet, not at school, so people can write the way they want.

BACK ON TOPIC...

Java is too simple and limited, while HTML 5 is too complex. So I guess Scratch Team will stay with Flash.

Oh, and Flash is what most of the people use. (... At least it was when I last checked...)
