America, get you thought we were in a bad economic state? Well, we got 4 more years of worse. I could name so many reasons why this is bad:

Bombing Pakistan because he believes Osama is there

Taxing big companies, which pass the "savings" on to us

Lowering the minimum income of families to tax. Now you only need to make a hundred  and a quarter to be taxed!

Yay! Now we will get a new flag/anthem, cause he finds them offensive.

Great job America. You just ruined this country with your ignorance of choosing race over experience, age over views. Wow i hate this country  smile

I have to get some things straightened out here.

1. Obama will not go in and bomb Pakistan aimlessly. He will send troops to search for Bin Laden. It's a lot better than McCain's plan to keep fighting the "War on Terror." All it's become is "The War for Iraq's Independence." Why don't we go find Bin Laden? That would really take a step to stopping terrorism.

2. What is wrong with taxing big companies? They're hoarding money while many Americans have to worry about their savings, house, etc. Spreading the wealth sounds like an excellent plan to me!

3. Are you complaining that lower class working families won't see a tax increase? Do you really not care about them?

4. I have NO idea what you're talking about by saying Obama going to change our anthem and flag. That's just plain outrageous!

Great job America. You just saved this country by choosing issues over expierience, Obama over McBush. Wow I love this country!

1. During a debate he said "we will find Osama at all costs" including bombing. Oh yeah, now all those vets died for nothing. They fought for Iraq's freedom. I agree we shouldn't have been there, but we were and need to finish. Thanks. You killed them for nothing.

2. Because taxing them means everything will go up in price, and more people will be without jobs. And Ok, so oyu make $50 a month. Now I sit here and play WOW all day (hypothetically. Don't even own it). Ok. I am 40 years old with no education because I was a stoner. Now I get $25 of your hard earned $50 because we are spreading the wealth.

3. ??? What? He is lowering the minimum income to be taxed, so now more people will be in the "upper class" being taxed. That and taxing you when you sell your house.

4. Well, during a couple interviews, when asked why he wouldn't wear the flag pin or put his hand over his heart during the pledge/anthem, he said he finds them offensive to other countries.

With a Democratic house, he will get away with a lot. You watch. This year, while Bush is still in office, you will get Christmas as normal. Next year, you might get a single present and that's it because of money problems. Thank you, we now are going to be more in debt as Obama wants to spend more money than is printed every year. How? taxing us to get that money. Seriously, this race was won by race and age. Look:

McCain:

Born to two parents in wars
Has 30+ experience in Senate
Has been in numerous wars

He knows that way around. On the other hand:

Obama:

Born in Hawaii, Illinois, or Kenya. Still hasn't specified which
Parents married in college
Was lawyer for a man in jail because of fraud
Than came to Senate for 2-4 years, and ran

I don't get how voting your party makes you associated with Bush? mcBush makes no sense. Bush ran 4 years ago silly! Obama didn't even vote until recently! And guess what? While McCain voted with HIS party, Obama voted with HIS party. What? He voted, when he voted, 100% of the time with Democrats. OMG! That makes him exactly like the worst Democratic president ever! As for history, a woman VP would have made it too. And one last thing:

If McCain was running against another white man, he would most likely have won. But since Obama is black, he won. America needs to look past skin color and age and focus on our future and how they will affect it.

Good argument, but...

1. Doesn't mean we will bomb Pakistan. And even if it is necessary to we will not bomb and kill innocent people who have nothing to do with terrorism like another president I know...

2. Things may cost more, but guess what? Americans will HAVE more money.

3. Show me proof that upper class is higher than a quarter million dollars and I'll believe you.

4. Well, good. Now we'll have a president who respects other countries. Unlike McCain who wanted to keep fighting in Iraq.

So you want to play the bias game do you...

McCain
Has had 30+ years to get used to Politics as usual.
(I do respect he has served our country in wars, though.)

Obama
Grew up with Grandparents in Hawaii.
Overcame struggle with his mother's death.
Wanted to help poverty, so signed up as a community organizer.
Wanted to do more, so he ran for senate.

He didn't vote with his party. He voted with Bush! Over 90% of the time. More than his fellow Republican Senators! He may not be Bush, but I can't tell much difference.

You are right, that race was a factor. But most people voted for Obama based on his ideas. Over 80% according to a recent poll.

Though I agree with most of President-elect Obama's ideas, I probably would've voted for McCain because of his stance on Abortion and the Death Peanlty.

How can he vote more than any other Republican with a Republican? He voted for what he thought America needed, which was mostly, apparently with Bush. Obama didn't vote at all, didn't even sponsor a bill! Apparently didn't like anything- not even to vote NO on it.

Apparently America doesn't do their research. I will quote my friend:

"He will help the middle class" He doesn't know how, but apparently since he said so in his commercials he will. Trust me, taxing won't help

Re: Barack Obama is president!

The wrong reasons?  The majority - and a SIGNIFICANT majority, believe he will be better for the country.  How can that be a "wrong reason"?

If he had only just won, I'd be willing to consider that maybe he won because of the race factor, but it was a huge majority.

As for his supposed lack of experience, maybe that means he will be willing to listen to his advisors instead of following the Bush methodology of making an uninformed decision and only listening to the advice of the yes-men who pretend to agree with him...

McCain08:

1. Why is bombing always an option? You don't bomb a country aimlessly if you're looking for somenone. THAT doesn't make sense and THAT is DEFINITELY on Obama's agenda.

2. It doesn't matter if our taxes will be paying for other people's homes. We'll still be taxed the same amount unless we make over a quarter million dollars.

3. I just said that if you make a quarter million dollars you won't see an increase in taxes. I just want to know what Bush's number is. Probably zero. Everyone gets tax increases.

4. I thought got over that months ago. You simply don't spend your life helping poverty and running for office if you hate America. If he hates America he would've left.

Born into war: would've left us in a pointless war for 4 more years at least.
Got hypnotized by regular politicians in his 30+ years in the Senate.

Obama
Devoted his life to helping poverty by becoming a communtity organizer in Chicago.
Decided he could do more for our country, so he ran for senate.
Anounced on a cold January day in front of a small crownd that he would run for president.

Just don't play the Biased game.

He voted with Bush more than any other Republican Senator. If he voted with Bush because he thought that was the right thing, I don't want him as my president.

Gotta go.

Re: Barack Obama is president!

Actually he announced his presidency at Bill Ayers house, than denied it during a debate. I agree the war is pointless, but McCain is right. We were in there for no reason, but now we gotta finish the mission. People died trying to bring peace to Iraq. Now they are going to be taken out, making all those deaths pointless, and put on our borders and Pakistan. All I can say is, when he screws up this country, you better stand by it, since you "voted" for him (assuming you can't vote). Bush, right now, is if you make more than $200,000.00 you get taxed, while Obama brings it down almost one hundred thousand.

How do you know Obama announced that he was going to run at Bill Ayer's house? If Obama denies it I believe it. Yes, this definitley pointless war. But are you saying you want more people to die fighting a pointless war. If you die in a war, you do not die for nothing if the war is stopped. All soldiers who died are honored. Period. Putting the troops in Pakistan is a fabulous idea. That way we'll ACTUALLY BE FIGHTING TERRORISM. By the way, Obama wants it to be a quarter million dollars before you see tax increases. That's 250,000 dollars. That's brings it up 50,000 dollars, not down a hundred thousand. Obama has inspired the world that Americans have voted him. Here's some quotes and excerpts from people around the world in the Washington Post.

"From Paris to New Delhi to the beaches of Brazil, revelers said Obama's election made  them feel more connected to America, and that America, after years of strained relations, seemed more connected to the world."

Terumi Hino
Japanese artist
"Americans overcame the racial divide and elected Obama because they wanted the real thing: a candidate who spoke from the bottom of his heart."

Mamdouh al-Sobaihi
Saudi architect
"U.S. history has returned to its roots. The fore fathers would be very pleased in (Tuesday's) election."

Nelson Mandela
South African Civil Rights leader
"(Obama's) victory has demonstrated that no person anywhere in the world should not dare to dream of wanting to change the world for a better place."

Amadou Toure
Malian president
"The United States has given a lesson, a lesson in maturity and a lesson in Democracy."

"...Obama's election was a powerful signal the United States intended to change direction."

Now we will have a president who gives hope and inspires the world. And a president the world respects.

No. If they were smart we would be the next country they would attack. But they don't know is lack of experience than.

You think he tells the truth? What about on the news, during an interview, they had a clip of his reverend saying:

"God D*** America! God D*** America! Obama will save us!"

When asked what that was about, Obama denied he was there.

I know this means nothing. I just find this incredible. This WOULD NOT affect my vote, but watch:

The Mayan calendar says the world ends in 2012. That is Obama's last term. Some religious kid in my class said the bible says that the world ends when we elect the Anti-Christ. Ok, could have been anyody. Watch:

Obama Biden
Osama Biden
Osama Bi(nla)den
Osama Binladen

Coincidence? Probably. But hey, sounds cool and convincing now that I have made up my mind early on on who to vote for.

Expierience is a negative thing. If you're too expierienced you get sucked into normal politics and then nothing gets done!

And yes, I do believe Obama tells the truth. He most likely was not at church that day.

I'm what you call "a religious kid." I learned that we should not listen to false prophets. The Mayans are false prophets. People have been predicting the world since it could be recorded. Ehy is this any different? And by the way, the Bible does not say that the United States will elect the Anti-Christ. It doesn't even say the Anti-christ will be a politician.

Those names in no way convince me.

Hey, I'm not Christian or Catholic, so I don't know. And Obama denied attending the church PERIOD! Not just that day, but forever. Experience helps with decisions. If you are experienced, you have seen a lot and have had a chacne to see how it gets done, how you would have done it, if it would have been right. Obama has no clue about anything, so won't know what America needs, which is NOT TAXES right now, as he wants to do. We need the tax credits for the people Obama wants to tax.

I'm talking about big companies! You know how the taxing will affect us, laying off workers and higher prices, but how would tax credits help us? Well, they could hire more people maybe. Maybe lower some prices since they just got some money, helping the debt

The tax is on PROFITS.  Money spent on employee wages is taken out BEFORE profits - any employer who claims he cannot afford to keep his workers on because of taxes is lying through his teeth.

Your lack of knowledge on these issues is quite shocking - perhaps you should do your own research instead of mindlessly repeating the false claims made by people whose only real reason for hating Obama is racism, but which they try to hide under a thin veneer of irrational scaremongering.

ONWARD WITH THE TRUTH!!! War is dumb... admit it.
P.S. I am atheist.

Re: Barack Obama is president!

How could I lie? It was RIGHT there on our news, probably ABC or something. It was DURING AN INTERVIEW too. How could I be lying than?

*? Wow. This is super sad. People saying McCain is Bush. Here. Lemme tell you something many of you obviously don't know: McCain is NOT Bush. Bush ran four years dumbys

The race was won on a little bit of race, half about age, and mostly America "wanted to make history" by electing a black man. Do your homework America! He is clueless. Choose the smart guy! Not the other guy!

What? McCain has a new tax plan Bush didn't even have. Obama wants to tax tax tax so he could spend these trillions of dollars he wants to spend. Yep, he wants to spend that much. A couple of stations were saying he wants to spend more money than is printed in the US.

??? he wants to tax companies. Maybe you should listen. If they don't provide his healthcare (which Obama said himself), they get fined. Which means exactly what I said.

maybe you should start thinking and researching instead of assuming, cause I sure did, using different news station (all biased trying to make Obama look good BTW) and going to government sites to choose who I wanted. maybe yo uotta too, instead of saying you know so much. When obviously you know nothing

Regardless of your feelings about Obama, he will be our next president.  So let's knock it off with all this negativity, roll up our sleeves and get down to the business at hand which is to tackle some of the problems facing this country and the world.  Continuing to bad mouth the man does nothing to help.

Re: Barack Obama is president!

Did anyone watch Saturday Night Live on Monday? It was HILARIOUS, epecially the skit where McCain tries to run away instead of facing George Bush's endorsement.

Completely off topic, I know...

Fixed that for you.

Your party has had 8 years.  Can you tell me something they did in that time that America should be proud of?

Time to let somebdy else have a turn.

Yeah, the wrong person or the right person. People like you make me sick (no offense, politically) saying because McCain is a Republican, and he has actually voted and sponsored bills (unlike Obama), he will cause this countries downfall. Newsflash! Obama already has plans to use more money than is printed every year! What? That should magically get us out of debt, using more money than is printed?
