How do you make a ball move up a diagonal line?

I have been having trouble figuring out how to make a ball move up a diagonal line. It either has been sinking, or going through the line. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

You could find the beginning point of the line, make the ball go there, and have it glide to the endpoint.
