Repeated messages
I keep getting messages saying I have new comments. When I check, there's no new comment!

Does it say new comments on ur project, or new replies to a comment on a project

It could be that someone has added you as their friend. Annoyingly, this features at the bottom of the message list, not at the top. So check your messages and scroll to the bottom to see if anyone has added you to their friend list.
Other than that, it might be the person deleted the message before you got to it.

no....i just get 'new comments' and no new friends messages.

We need to do a deep analysis on the cause for this problems. There are certainly some bugs. Thanks for reporting it. (I'm traveling right now and I might not have time too look into it for a week or so though. Sorry!)
