Hey guys, I kinda don't check the 1.4 forums anymore I just do 2.0 so I'm gonna try and start checking this thread again. If I don't post for a while can one of you comment on me on 2.0 and basically give me a kick?
gots it. how's the website? once we have that, we will have no need of the forum.
Good, sorry its taking so long, the rest of the p110 tech team keep asking me to do other stuff at the same time, so far we have a blog, forums, a home page, project sharing and still setting up users system, I will tie you all access when you can log into it.
Also tank defence sounds cool! I look forward to helping if I can

What is the current project we are working on, and how can I help out? Also, can you please put me on the full member list? (I think it might be a good idea to put the people's ranks next to their name on the list as well.)
Our current project is tank defense. it's a twist on the classic game "tower defense". Basically, you buy tanks to defend instead of towers but you have a character and can ride tanks to move them. The AI enemy has soldiers who are trying to get across (no AI other than to get to the player's base) and they also have tanks which can damage friendly tanks and probably have a much more sophisticated AI in them.
Currently, us programmers are waiting for the artists to finish up and actually do something... XD
No. currently we're just waiting on art.
And I cannot add you to the member's list. Someone else can tho so you will be added within a day most likely.
I can do some art if you want, I'm on a plane late this afternoon so no Internet I can do some on that...

You don't say sin. You say sine. You can say cos and tan though. Don't ask why, I've no idea. According to a maths teacher, sinning is evil and you don't sin in maths (or programming). Oh well.
random joke I just came up with after seeing that:
Why is trig so evil?
β-cos it con-tan-s sin.
Euch. Awful! Groan. Wince. Lol.

Wow. awesome. You've done more than I thought! I thought it was pretty much just gonna be a forum and a hop page and a user system to begin with but this is awesome! I never actually considered it but a blog would indeed be useful.

We could try "absorbing" other collabs, or we could post a topic on the 2.0 forums. (Show and Tell)
Offline
well I didn't actually mean that. Well, I did mean that it would be cool but I don't think it's gonna happen. We would need to move into something other than scratch to sell it but it would be cool for it to have started in a fairly small collab. I bet the ST would love it too. If we told people that it started at scratch.
or maybe if we made a company, we could merge with P110's thing to make... like... Tech-XI? Style-110? XI-Tech? P110XI? XI110? hm...

Pinnipediator, we should change the title of the thread to be asking for more members, and include a current members list with the people's ranks. We need more than just us, pinnipediator. It is just me, you, P110, and tpaley.

And agentroop but he's only kind of in style-XI. I don't think we need to advertise for more people. People will come on thier own. Just add the code to make the style-XI 3 image (with link. look at the first page of this topic to get it. NOT the first post tho. later on I posted something else) to your signature and that's enough advertising as is. Maybe change it to: Style Xi 3 | Makers of great games

Still, a 2.0 topic would probably help.

hi people. I just came out with a new image. it's very similar and it has sligtly lower quality but if you wish to use it:

yah but lets do that when 2.0 comes out because we have no idea what will really happen to forums and stuff with the ultimate transition.

I do, most forum posts will be deleted all 1.4 forums will be put into read-only, and the 2.0 forums will have exactly the same categories, but not posts or stuff like that...

We could just recreate the forum post if it got deleted. They will give a warning so we can copy and paste the first post. Also, about the signature, only me and you have it now, tpaley. P110 has none and pinnipediator has something completely different. Lastly, if people were going to come on their own, they would have done it already. We just need to change the forum title to "Style Xi 3 - Members Needed" and have a 2.0 forum post. We are only communicating to 1/3 of the community by sticking to 1.4, and we are missing a chance to try to start working with clones. http://beta.scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/1168/ explains that beta forum topics will stay, but all the "outdated" 1.4 topics, including this one, will be turned into "read-only" in the transition.

I agree, we should move to a 2.0 one at some point

Okay, odd dreams there tpaley. Nice new thing to put up on the first post, but I've no idea how to change a topic name.
How do you change a topic name?
Offline
I am not sure how to (if you can) change a 1.4 topic name, but I know that you can change the name of 2.0 topics. You could just post another topic saying "Members needed for Style Xi 3". By the way, what does "Xi" even mean?
Offline
Check the first post now! I added code for the other image, and used it a bit. It's very cool.
Offline
I've no idea what xi means. I think it was originally just to sound cool. no idea.

I've never really used the 2.0 site much. I like 1.4 better.

Sorry. However, the transition is still going to occur, whether we like it or not. Probably more than half of the Scratch community has migrated to the 2.0 beta. We are missing out on an opportunity here! Many collaborations are going to begin after the ultimate transition, when a collaboration section is added to the forums. If we wait, we will become just another one of those collabs, ignored and forgotten. Also, we will be getting nowhere without cloning on 2.0. If not for ally and enemy tanks, we need it for missiles, lasers, bullets, etc. Finally, we need more members! We can't get along with just the creator of the collab, a soon-to-be creator of the website, and two programmers! That also does not allow for a ranking system, which was one of the major reasons I joined Style Xi 3. (I would like to have my name mentioned as a member at least somewhere on the first post, rather than half a dozen members that quit a long time ago or went inactive.)
