Re: Multiplayer On Scratch!

They already are... The new cloud lists in 2.0 will be exactly what you need to make multiplayer games, granted you will need to do some effort to make a successful one.

Re: Multiplayer On Scratch!

Multiplayer shall be possible in 2.0, but it takes more effort to program. This is already being worked on in the form of the user id block and cloud variables, so this will happen.

Re: Multiplayer On Scratch!

I wonder who will make the first actual MMO...

And.. Another good thing with 2.0 is cloud variables, this means that you can have an unlimited amount of players on one list showing X|Y Coords and it would just clone 1 sprite everytime another person is on.

Ill try to make a project demonstrating...

Re: Multiplayer On Scratch!

The viability of Scratch MMOs really depends on how 2.0 works, assuming everyone got an individual screen, and only variables (not sprite positions, this is probably what it will be) were shared, you'd simply need a lot of lists and a script to find what players to stamp. If the screen were shared, something bigger would be nigh on impossible.
