I've had some problems bringing in new costumes for existing sprites on some of the imacs in my computer lab.
I can work around it by importing a new sprite, then dragging the costume back on to an existing sprite, but that gets a bit hard to explain to my students. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

The trouble happens on some computers when students try to import a new costume for a sprte using the "import" button. No error message, just nothing happens.....

Strange problem... If you have a few moments for an experiment the next time this happens, I wonder if you could save the student's project, close and re-open Scratch on that computer, and try the import button again? It would be useful to know if it happens all the time on a given a computer or if something the student had done since starting Scratch triggers the problem. For example, navigating to a folder on a file server or to a locked or hidden folder on the local disk could explain the problem. (The "import costume" dialog tries to return the folder last used. If the last folder were on a network drive and that drive is no longer available that could explain it.) I haven't seen this problem myself so I'm just guessing. More data would be very welcome.
