I've still liked every generation. All have good Pokemon.
Here's my favorite to least:
2
5
1
3
4
4 had good Pokemon, but had horrible designs for some of them.
And I really liked Unova's Pokemon. Almost all of them had one good thing about it, design or strength.
And I didn't add 6 yet until the Pokedex for that one is full.
But where's my water cat starter. I want a water cat starter.

What about all the battle editions that were really important? The Special/Physical split was important.

By strength, I meant battle options. Like how good it is in battles, with physical and special.

I'm talking about Gen 4. And you can't do this all based on Pokemon designs.

Strangely, I actually wanted a fire dog starter. And then Fennekin happened. Well, technically it's a fox, but that still counts!
However, I didn't expect a grass-mole thing and a water-frog.

Yes Generation Two is your fave! :D
Most kids at my school think that Generation Three is the best, and I can't blame them. :P

My favorite is Gen 4 because I grew up with it, and because the Physical/special split was a god send to competitive battlers. I would put Gen 2 and 1 last because even though they started the formula, it wasn't perfected until later. (Gen 3-5)

this does not, of course, include the legendaries, I like all of them
But I can't wait for more Gen 6 Pokemon!

I find it hilarious how Generation 1 is your least favorite.
Really, you can't hate on it. At least you can't hate on FireRed. That's like the best game.

It is? It probably is in your opinion. I liked Gen 5 so far because of the graphics. I can't really vote on Gen 6 because it's not out and I haven't played it.

I had an epiphany earlier.
When the names of the versions were revealed, everyone associated them with chromosomes. This was supported by the DNA strand in the Japanese logo. Xerneas represents the X chromosome, which is female, and is a chital, a land creature. Yvetal represents the Y chromosome, which is male, and is a wyvern, a sky creature. What's female and earth-based form mythology? Gaia. What's male and sky-based from mythology? Uranus. This could lead to the conclusion that the Z creature will be sea based and will probably be similar to Pontus.

How is Sea backwards and forwards though? Some people came up with an idea that it will be able to travel through dimensions like Giratina. But, that actually seems like a good idea having it be based on both.

I see FireRed as the best game because:
1. It's a very faithful remake of the first game, better in some ways.
2. It was my first Pokemon game.

After this, I had epiphanies about other mascot legendaries. For example, Dialga and Palkia could be interpreted as Izanagi and Izanami respectively, and therefore Giratina and Arceus could be indirectly interpreted as Hiruko and a combination of Kunitokotachi and Amenominakanushi respectively. The story the of brothers fighting that split Kyurem into Reshiram and Zekrom can be a reinterpretation of Charlemagne's sons splitting his empire, leading to feudal Europe.
But that's besides the point. This is just my theory.

You can hate on it. Watch Animalguy's top 5 pokemon generations. He does give credit to FireRed/LeafGreen though.

I read an article recently discussing how the X legendary was a neuron and the Y legendary muscle. I still think that it is the axes, and that the Z legendary will be some ninja psychic mind-infiltrator, because the z-axis extends to the imaginary plane, involving the impossible square roots of negatives.

Diglett can learn Aerial Ace, and you can actually see them attack. WHAT IF WE CAN SEE WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE UNDERGROUND!?

1. square roots of negative numbers aren't impossible
2. z axis is as real as any other. and technically all numbers are complex (no +0i is needed for real numbers), so all axes could involve imaginary number

1. Yes they are. A negative number times another negative is a positive number, while a positive times a positive is a positive number. Name one negative number with a square root.

every single one
we have imaginary numbers for a reason

Oh. Ok. But aren't all numbers technically imaginary?
