Maybe you don't get the whole in medias res thing? Or some other component of the story? What does in medias res have anything to do with whether or not it was imaginative? Okay, well, it's not entirely the plot... Whatever. Here:

Yeah. Not much more to say.
just because other people say so doesn't mean it's fact, its opinion through and through

They are aren't they?
Until I watched Doctor Who, I never knew the true epicness of fezzes.
The only two fandoms I'm in are Doctor Who (I simply watch it; I don't join Whovian communities), and the other one should be obvious if you know me.

On the list, that I've seen/read/etc.
Harry potter - Okay, but slightly overrated.
The Hunger Games - Heck no.
Percy Jackson - uh... Refer to Harry Potter.
Disney/Pixar - no opinion.
Star Wars - no opinion.
Pokemon - no opinion.
You're seriously gonna make me choose - This is me.Lol but harry potter overrated? Harry potter will never be overrated! I bet you it will be replaced by many other fandoms to come but it will still be remembered (I hope that made sense)

wait what
sure jk rowling got inspired by a heck of a lot of places but i bet you haven't read ten of those books
a lot of them are as obscure as obscure can be, but others are just as embedded into popular culture as harry potter
and it's widely regarded that there's no original ideas left and the most original books have to include good characters, be a mashup of as many books as possible without seeming tacky and know what it is
and the amount of planning she put into her book is incredible
have a read through again and take note of everything you see

Well, sure, it's opinion. It just also happened to be a quote that matched my opinion. And we are talking about my opinion here.
Edit: And saying that my argument is opinion does not make yours fact. Basic logic.

There are only sixteen on there. Of course I haven't read ten of them. Doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.

I watch MLP:FiM and listen to a bunch of bands (Megadeth, Mr. Big, others), though I don't really like considering myself a "fan" of anything.
But man, the brony community makes some amazing stuff Comics, art, fanfiction... I like to follow the community rather than try being a part of it.

Strangely enough I like the MLP fan art, stories, etc. way better than the show itself.
