I have been playing New Super Mario Bros. U, and it is incredible! It is extremely fun an addicting, and its even better to play with your friends. You can play with up to 5 people, and whoever has the wii u  gamepad can tap the screen and a block will appear on that spot, which can help your friends out and more.
The game has surprisingly many new features (this may contain spoilers, so beware!) There is a new item that looks like an acorn, and when you get it, Mario gets flying squirrel wings and can glide, shoot up (although then losing balance), and stick to walls for a short period. I haven't yet seen the penguin suit, but it still may be in the game. It's in the star world and challenge mode.
Unlike the previous games, there is one huge world (consisting of the multiple worlds), and the end is at peaches castle. The first world is called acorn plains, and there are squirrel-like creatures with wings in the game that can glide or walk.
A new addition to the game is baby yoshi (normal yoshi is still in it) and baby yoshi eats enemies in front of you, and if you shake him in a dark area light forms around you. And a pink one that fills up with air and a blue one that shoots bubbles. They also all eat enemies.
The graphics are extremely crisp and clear.

-new mini-castle enemy Bom Bom, which was in Mario 3 and 3D Land
-stomping turtles who shoot electricity
-large Easter-island-heads that may tip
-turtles in shells that once in a while grow spikes
-new creatures who look somewhat like goombas Goombrats, and they aren't new.
-dozens of more features

The best part of the game is that its actually hard!!!. I flew through the DS versions so easily, but this game is challenging. If you want a good game to play with family or friends, this is it!
