Christmas Traditions

Hey everybody! Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy whatever holiday you celebrate x3 How do you celebrate at the holidays? I love hearing about people's traditions.

The fun starts for me on Christmas Eve, when all my family comes over. We play a few games, then start getting ready for church. After church, my family usually throws a big party. My dad and I set up appetizers for everyone. Usually we get to bed at around 10-11, knowing we have a lot to do the next day.

I wake up (Usually at around 5:30 or 6:00) and go running to the tree. Last year, there were no presents under the tree and our stockings only had mints and candy canes in them. xD Anyways, so we open our gifts and my dad takes pictures, which we all try to refuse. (My family is not the photogenic type lol) Usually I have a large knot of hair sticking out the top of my head, and my mom and brother are extremely tired. After this, my mom and dad begin cooking what will be our dinner late in the evening. Usually they cooks a turkey, potatoes, some cranberry sauce, gravy, etc. Then, my mom takes gingerbread cookies that my dad made and makes them into a gingerbread tree. Some time around then the rest of my enormous family arrives, bringing a whole lot of presents. We sit down in a particular spot and start passing the gifts around by the names on them. Eventually, we have them all stacked really high and we take turns opening them. That can last for HOURS. Lots of people, lots of presents- It takes a long time. xDD Anyways, so after that, we enjoy a nice dinner and play games on the Wii. Then they go home and we sleep.

I open presents the night before (on Christmas eve) and eat Ramen Noodles while doing so :3  ^^

Re: Christmas Traditions

Wake up.
Secretly open one present.
Hide present in room.
Wake family up, little sister last.
Wait until my mom has her coffee.
Get tired of waiting and dump stocking contents all over the floor.
Stuff myself full of chocolate.
Mom has coffee by now.
Video camera rolling.
Open all the presents.
Throw out all wrapping paper.
Eat more chocolate.
Watch Christmas specials.
Text GF until about 10:30 at night.
Fall asleep.

That's how it should go this year. Maybe it won't.

Re: Christmas Traditions

Every Christmas Eve night, we watch the Polar Express, and then we sleep out by the Christmas tree.

Ew, fruitcake
on the subject of fruitcake there has been a fruitcake circulating through my family for years because we just keep regifting the same fruitcake, it's kind of really a joke now. I mean we get eachother other stuff but then whoever ends up with the fruitcake has to deal with that thing for an entire year.
I do the usual Christmas thing at my moms and sometimes do christmas eve with the extended family, and then go to my dads, do christmas, and stay till the 27th

and wait

Re: Christmas Traditions

The eve....
Wrap presents in the afternoon,
dinner,
go carol singing,
bed.
The day....
Feel stockings,
wake parents,
view stockings,
have breakfast,
OPEN DEM!!,
go to a friend's house,
have an enormous lunch-dinner-pudding,
be full,
go home,
DON'T HAVE EVENING MEAL.
wait one day,
DOCTOR WHO ONLY 24 ISH HOURS AFTER UK!! PLEASE DO THIS FOR ALL EPISODES!!
BTW this all happens at my grandparent's house, away from my home town.

Yes, the multiple mouths of that emoticon were necessary to accurately portray my shock.
