I think we should be allowed to be able to have servers instead of mesh where it is easier to join the game like if you have played Minecraft, you are able to easily portforward your computer and allow people to join your server. You can also buy certain servers so it can be open 24/7 like minecrafted.net or cubedhost.org.
I also think it would be a good idea to have a certain save feature and perhaps a load feature (hopefully coming in 2.0) This would make it able for other users to save their online data on the game and return at a later point to still have their stats etc.
A online leaderboards? Perhaps a 2.0 block allowing for a leaderboards, Like if you check my Puffle Paddle Game I have a highscores and it would be cool if people could get on the highscores without me manually updating it.
Now i know according to Apple's policy you cannot use 3rd party software to publish your game to the AppStore, perhaps scratch should contact them and make a kind of agreement for certain games?
What do you think?

I like the server idea. Like, somebody could create a game, then have a server so people could play it.
And there could be a block that is like:
start server [id] if ((server) [id]) ends wait [20] secs start server [id]

Servers: cloud variables are coming in Scratch 2.0. Any other server stuff would be too complicated for younger Scratchers to understand, defeating the purpose.
Save feature: if you save data in variables and then save the project, it saves the contents of the variables
Leaderboards: Scratch 2.0 will have cloud variables and lists
