Is this true? "if you like the old interface, you can still upload projects from Scratch 1.4 and lower"

Yes. I tried it out, and you can upload projects that you made in 1.4 (and below) to 2.0. It works rather well.

Will it be compatible with mac?
Yes. If your computer has a recent version of Flash Player, then you can use Scratch 2.0!
(Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/ … layer.html to check if you have Flash Player.)

If by "it", you mean Scratch 2.0 Beta Online, then the availability won't rely on your OS. As long as your computer has Adobe Flash Player installed, then any OS can use Scratch 2.0.
I also like the idea of using 2.0 and 1.4 at the same time
Just to clarify though, multitasking isn't something when it comes to operating systems.

How can I upload projects with the source code (Scratch 1.4)?use squeak?I can't make it work!

YES!!!! This will be the first version update I have ever experienced! BTW, I still have a Scratch project saved from Scratch Day's beta testing.
This will probably be the biggest and greatest update in the history of Scratch! A whole new Flash editor, a new website, cloud variables/lists, time, user ID#, and no screen refresh! BTW, will there still be the video sensor thing? Because that would be really cool.

Your question doesn't make much sense. Please be more specific.
This question probably doesn't belong in this thread...

Yes! It's incredible!
"A whole new Flash editor, a new website, cloud variables/lists, time, user ID#, and no screen refresh!"
It's all there (and more), but you're a little off on the no screen-refresh idea.
Without any screen refresh, then how could the user see the sprites' scripts interact on the stage? There is an option for no screen-refresh, but I don't want to ruin the little surprise.
"BTW, will there still be the video sensor thing? Because that would be really cool."
Yes, it's still there. And still really cool.

I just dug up this old project from nearly 3 years ago, explaining what Scratch 2.0 will do. It looks like that's mostly correct, 3 years later.

As far as i know, all the features are currently finished, i would of though it would be opening the beta now and get testing going

while the features may be finished, it's best to have more advanced scratchers test for major bugs, so newer ones are not confused, and we don't get 500 reports of each glitch
