They weren't when I checked.

Hi, I've been flagging a few non-related tags for a while, but I'm just asking, should I flag tags that say, like "lol" or "awesome" or "___ was here"?

I think tags are fine as long as they aren't pointlessly spamming. For example: [USERNAME] was here, slendys in mah showah, and other are fine. But ones like: asifdhafiehf, ibsuua, abcdefg, are pointless and no one would ever search for those in the search box. People could name their project after tags, and peopel click on a tag and BOOM! More views on someone's project. I think you all might be overreacting a bit.

Yes. Those are the most spaamed tags there are. Flag as many as you can!

Tags are meant to be helpful, not advertising. So if someone is looking for a project about Slenderman they might click on a project tagged with "slendys in mah showah" and end up on a My Little Pony project (biggest contrast I could think of). This would waste time and annoy the community. That's why we flag ALL irrelevant tags.

Guys, I just had an idea. If we can't flag those waffles anymore, then if the project creator is against the random tags, they could just delete them and we could save our flags for projects with creators that random tag. And thanks 'cause I have seen about a million "awesomes" and "lol"s.

Also here is a project which needs major cleanup. http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/TheSaint/379172

I'm not saying you all are wrong (A LOT of projects do need clean-up actually) but I would LOVE to hear a moderator's perspective on this.

I wouldn't spend time cleaning up tags on the old site. We're only planning on importing 6 tags for each project max into Scratch 2.0. So that will dramatically cut down on tag spam.
