I'm doing a science fair project on rage quitting, and since not that much formal research has been done on it, it's been a tough time getting my background research. I'd appreciate it if any of you filled out this survey on rage quitting (since I'm sure that practically everyone here who plays video games has done it before).

1.) What do you do when you "Rage quit"?
[_]Calmly quit, and do something else
[_]Go in a rage and smash the controller, console, or anything related to the game

5/23 people rage quit 1/10 times they play.
6/23 people rage quit 1/30 times they play.
3/23 people rage quitted once in their life.
5/23 people rage quit every time they play.
4/23 people never rage quit.
Causes of rage quitting:
9/23 people rage quit because it's too difficult.
5/23 people rage quit because the game isn't responding to their input.
7/23 people rage quit because they lost
What people do in their "rage":
17/23 people calmly quit and do something else
1/23 people physically express their rage and get violent on anything related to the game (the controller, the console, the TV, etc...)
3/23 people get violent on anything in sight
How do people feel about the game once they've calmed down:
16/23 people want to get back to playing
x/23 people think the game sucks and don't want to play it again
7/23 people don't want to play it for awhile.
1/23 people think the game isn't right for them.
Note: You may be counting these up and thinking "how does that have 24 answers, and yet 23 people?", and the answer to that is that people answered more than one option sometimes.

To be honest there's some games out there which aren't even skill based, it's knowing the exploits, and that's what causes me to quit, the people saying "It's because you suck", maybe I don't want to use the same class and weapon as everyone else because a good game should actually be balanced, I normally rage quit every time I play Chivalry, I haven't ever been bored of it and left, I've just been watching someone stab me 30 times with a dagger making it so I can't block.

Rage quitting is when you quit out of rage towards the game. Whenever I get angry I don't immediately turn to violence, and physical solutions. I sometimes feel horrible (mad), but seem completely calm. Sometimes when I rage quit I just go and watch TV, while about 5 years ago, I would scream at the TV asking it why the ball can go through spongebob and not bounce back to hit the bubbles (I still sometimes play that game)

Yes, but rage quitting is when you quit out of rage of the game. When you are rage quitting, you are quitting out of rage, that doesn't mean you physically express your rage.

About a month or two ago I took advantage of the Rock Candy Trick in Earthbound. Unfortunately if a stat goes past 255 it resets to 0. I'm not sure when I'll finish playing it. I've already replayed Earthbound several times anyway.

I don't rage quit. I just decide I've had enough of the game but that happens when I've just beat a level or my mom tells me to stop playing the game.
