The demoscene is full of people who try to stretch their techno-toys to their limits, creating software known as a demo. And then they go to parties so they can show off with their fake names and all that fun stuff. Cool. One website with a whole bunch of demoscene info is at pouet.net.

My favs would probably be Ceasefire: all fall down..., Agenda Circling Forth, Yellow Rose of Texas (most ported demo ever!) , rove, debris, .the .product, Prime Number Minister, Media Error, most things by cncd, fairlight, and farbrausch, etc etc etc etc etc
