Ever since the IPad Mini, I have never been fond about apple.
I have had a mixed relationship with Apple. I remember at this time last year I was looking for a laptop, desiring basically "a MacBook Air not made by apple." Now my needs and understandings of computers have developed more, and I'm looking into products similar to the MacBook Pro line which balance thinness with power (like the VAIO S) that either are MBPs or can be hackintoshed for iOS development.
Unfortunately, Apple's "it just works" theme isn't shining in iOS 6.0.1 on my iPad 2. iMessage, a simple CHAT PROGRAM is apparently out of the skill set of Apple's developers. I constantly go hours with the service not sending or recieving messages, tonight that happened to impair communication for a school project. Also, ever since last Monday, I have been plagued by random crashes (both app crashes and crashes to black screen with apple logo) for no apparent reason. Hardware is good, but the software just isn't up to par. (I have tried both iCloud restore and set up as new iPad with no luck)

Becase of a typo I have discovered a prototype new apple product
The iSissy
(which, sadly, is not in reality. ;_; )
Anyone else think apple should make this?

This'll be my first device with Siri, retina display and the ability to put it in your pocket.I don't think it's very good. If you have an iHome, it would be completely useless because they have a smaller outlet. You would have to buy a new iHome. And if you want a case to protect your iPod, then the colors wouldn't be visible because it is blocked by the case, IF there is a case for the new iTouch.
I think it is very good. Got no iHome and I'm not fittin' to get a case for a while, just be able to look at the beautiful design for a while,p.

I've wanted an iPad for a while now, and I wanted to put it on my Christmas list but I ended up leaving it out since I was afraid it'd be too expensive a gift for my family to get for me. So, I'd like to ask- How much is an iPad?
If it's not too much I'll probably put it on my birthday list next year. :3

Retina iPads start at $499, but iPad 2s (what both Steve and I have, and still quite good), start at $399 on apple's web site. The only thing to be aware of is that while Apple still makes and sells the iPad 2, they only make the 16GB Wifi only version, so 3G or high capacity is out unless you search Amazon or eBay.

I like Apple, don't get me wrong, but they're running out of ideas. Now, most apple products just have a processer upgrade, sometimes the addition of retina display, and bug fixes, but people get them anyway. If you get a new apple product get one released around 2010-2011 (Ex. IPad 2, IPhone 4). Cheap, but good.

I'm sorry you feel that way, I can see as merely a consumer, wanting huge upgrades yearly seems reasonable.
However, it's not; technology is out there that could improve Apple's products immensely, but it's not yet tested enough, nor is it at a consumer price point right now, you've got to be patient!

Nope, but they have won me over.
Doesn't mean I'm stupid about it though.

Exactly. The iPad mini comes to mind there.

Apple has found some sort of magic balance in their products, and I don't see any reason to change. The MacBook Pro design is one of the most iconic designs in the world, and I don't see any reason to change that. Clearly either all of the MacBook line will be getting retina display or the non-retina versions will be killed off. There are some other things that would be nice to see, like 4G mobile broadband or (on a software side) the ability to access Intel graphics in BootCamp (currently they are limited to the discrete gpu that takes more battery power). Maybe better battery life and more universal HDMI support. There just isn't that much that can be improved. This is talking simply about the Mac line, there are things
I'd love to see changed in the iDevice realm. Standard mini-USB instead of proprietary connectors, less restrictive OS, or access to a universal file system, but none of these are practical. Processor updates and slight increases in RAM and SSD are really all that's left. I'd wager that Apple products look better than nearly any other, as well.

I reckon that it's the small things that make you smile that make Mac such a wonderful computer, the design (which often seems like a minor feature), the way the power cord automatically reattached if you trip over it, the way the Mac and iDevice power adapters fit perfectly in a set of two outlets, the light-up keyboard...
It's great for the consumer to have a perfectionist as the creator.

Another thing I hate about Apple:
The Home button is messed up. I have to click it hard, and about 6-8 times to get it to work. They should really fix that.
Also, everything is SO FRAGILE. I have not met a person who has not dropped/cracked their iPhone and has had it for over a year.
Plus they exadrate."exadrate"
ex-a-drate?
what is a drate what
And dude why don't you just get an android phone instead.
Galaxy S III is amazing.I am horrible at spelling.
Android is so bad... I can't even talk about Android...
Apple is the best phone company out their by far.
Why are we comparing a company to an OS?
On topic: I like apple, it is just the price.

Appears to be a big issue. At this point your best bet is to pay a few bucks and go down to your local Apple Store; it's annoying that you have to pay, but without getting it fixed your iPad is virtually useless.

This is why you get a Nexus 7. :P
But I'll bet it's part of Apple's planned obsolescence scheme.
It's a trap!
Most iPads do end up glitching out after a while anyway, or stop working in some area. Like I still have my iPad 1, but now it's getting much slower and choppier, especially when browsing. My dad isn't having those problems with his iPad 3, so yeah.
Luckily though I got a Nexus 7 for Xmas and I'm loving it to death. :) Probably never getting an iPad again.

According to my friend's iPhone, when we were (in reality) standing outside my school we were standing in the middle of a lake almost a mile away according to Apple Maps. XD

I ended up getting an iPod touch for Christmas. Not a big apple fan, though. Steve, I think I might name my iPod touch Jim. Oh, and it's blue.

Big Issue as in important, or as in many people are having this issue? My parents don't exactly know about this issue yet and I'm pretty sure they won't drive me all the way to Chicago or Des Moines to visit an Apple Store. I think my best bet is to let my school's IT teacher deal with it; as I mentioned in a comment on Reddit that I made sure that I had the iPad with me on the break because I had a 12-hour car ride there and back. Although it could present some issues as our science textbook is iPad-based.

Personally I'd go with a Nexus 10; the screen size just fits me better.
As for planned obsolescence, I'm actually somewhat concerned about that. I tried going through Apple support online and I'm no longer covered by AppleCare or my 90 days of free support (I'm not sure if that's completely the case, it may be applied through the school in some form of group coverage, IDK) and I seriously had had it for EXTREMELY close to a year at the time the issue started. Did something maybe get messed up now that my warranty is up? It SHOULDN'T be an issue about the hardware, though. It's run iOS 4 for a short time until I updated, then iOS 5 for the majority of its lifespan, and iOS 6 since its launch. I always kept an up-to-date system, and it didn't have any problems until at least a month after the iOS 6.0.1 update.
Lol. Congrats on a Nexus. A truly open operating system, I see. No need to root, it comes with vanilla Android. You're free, I'm stuck with Apple.
