Did you hang on to the version of V.1 that you had on your computer when you developed it?  Can you work with that?

This is really interesting...are you saying that the project went up to the web and then was changed somehow when you pulled it back down?  I've never heard of that happening before...other than possibly a corrupt file transfer which usually doesn't run at all.  Are you running it on a different computer than you were running it on before it was uploaded?

Re: Really, Really Anoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I took a look at it...it looks to me like the bottom hit sensor either needs to be thicker or the ground needs to be thicker or the falling speed needs to be slower.  You have a falling speed of 5 pixels but the ground is only 3 pixels thick.  So there's a good chance that the sensor will step right over the ground and never see it.  I slowed down the falling speed to 3 and it worked okay.  If you want to keep the falling speed at 5, I suggest making the ground thicker.

Not sure why it is working online...or why it used to work offline.  But you do need to be careful with sensing to make sure that the sensor touches the stimulus long enough for the program to catch it and react.

One possible reason why things changed between online and offline is image compression.  Sometimes image compression can change the shade of some pixels to the point where the sensing doesn't work the same.

Re: Really, Really Anoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really odd.

When I download SPY_MAN_V.1 and open it in Scratch directly from the web page I see the behavior where the spy falls through the floor.  However, if I select the option to save it to a file and then run it by double-clicking on the file,  it works the same as the online version.

Does the IDE Scratch when started by the web page (from the "Download and open in Scratch" option) get started with some special parameter that might affect the graphics or the timing?

(Using Windows XP, Scratch 1.3, and IE 7)

I've updated my text adventure game.

just download it, then save the project, then open it again and it will work FINE!
