What is Raspberry Pi?

So...what the heck is Raspberry Pi? I've heard of it before but I have no idea what it is.
Could someone, I don't know, explain it? Point me somewhere?

My life is incomplete if I don't know every detail about Scratch! Mmh. Lol.
