Welcome to my class!
You can call me Zangooser or Zang, it really doesn't matter.
I am an Art and Graphic design teacher from the Scratch University collaboration, and my purpose is to teach mainly beginner and intermediate artists how to create neat and attractive sprites and backgrounds that will, overall, sum up to a beautifully crafted project.
In my class, you will learn:
-Color schemes
-Depth
-Layout
-Sprite design
-Background design
-Basic animal anatomy (optional)
You will be assigned projects usually every 1 - 4 days, depending on how long it takes you to complete a certain assignment.
To sign up, post here! Even if this class in particular doesn't interest you, go visit the Scratch University to see if there are any other classes that sound good to you.
For my class you will need some form of image editor. MS Paint and Scratch are okay to use for the elements in my class, but I recommend using a more advanced program, such as SumoPaint, PaintTool SAI, GIMP, or Photoshop. You will also need a basic programming skill in Scratch to complete some of the assignments I give.
Here are my students for this class:
GameGuy64 - "Game"
Kiriiki
laser314 - "Laser"
Nomolos - "Nomo"
One spot open
All new students, once accepted into the school by CatPerson, need to fill out this form.

If I'm waiting on a student for something, whether it's to turn in a project or take a quiz, it's posted here for easy viewing.
Game, Laser, Kiriiki and Nomolos, there's an optional Summer Assignment, just for fun!~

I'll use Kiriiki mostly. Feel free to take my main's alt's alt off and just leave Kiriiki.
I'd actually love to take classes from you, because,
1. I've seen how successful you are in art,
and
2. I'm terrible at it.

Alright then!
Before we begin, I'm going to give you a little quiz to see where you're at at what you know, artwise, so give me a few minutes to write it.

Attention new students! If you have recently joined my class, pay attention, 'cuz this is pretty important. If you haven't already done so, you are required to fill out a preassessment / quiz, which is posted just below. This is so that I can estimate your skill level and figure out where I need to start in your education.
1. a. What image editing (art) program(s) do you have on your computer? (Not counting Scratch)
b. On a scale of 1 - 5 with 5 being "excellent" and 1 being "poor", how would you rate your skills and knowledge of that / those program(s)? (Counting Scratch)
2. Do you have a graphics tablet?
3. a. Do you prefer to draw on a computer or on paper?
b. Do you prefer to color on a computer or on paper?
4. Do you have a scanner? (Note: some printers have built-in scanners; if you're not sure, ask your parents)
5. Do you know how to post links and images in a post?
6. Delete all but the most fitting answer:
a. I draw or color using my computer roughly 1 - 5 times a month
b. I draw or color using my computer roughly 6 - 15 times a month
c. I draw or color using my computer almost every day
d. I never draw or color using my computer
e. Not sure / Very irregularly
7. Does your school have an art program (whether integrated into regular classes or as an extracurricular activity)? Do you participate? If yes, tell me what your opinion is on it. (Do you like it / dislike it and why)
8. When are you on, mostly? What days and what times? Are there any days that you'd prefer to be taught on?
9. Do you have any nicknames you'd like me to call you?
10. Do you have a basic knowledge of programming in Scratch? (it will be used in many assignments)
11. Was this quiz boring or what?

I would like to say, there is a three teacher limit for a subject, but the maximum for students in a class is 6 and the minimum the start is 3 so just add 3 more open spots, Then once the semester begins, close them.

Uhh... no way I can handle six students. Even four, I think, would be pushing it a bit.
But I'll add a couple spots and see how it goes.

Response to Question #3-
Little side fact, if you were trying to say "computer" in French, it'd actually be "un ordinateur".
I'm taking a French class in (real life) school, so I thought this would be a good time to (*cough cough show off cough*) practice some of my vocab.
Response to Question #12-
See top of page.

It's not a bad question, though. Originally, CatPerson had suggested that our students refer to us as Mr. / Miss., but you know...
It just feels wrong. And "Miss Zangooser" really doesn't work.
@ Laser
Thanks! You're in as a student! Unfortunately, I cannot begin teaching for real until CatPerson announces that school's in session, but until then, I'll try to keep you guys amused by posting little random assignments, quizzes, and pictures. But don't worry! None of these things are mandatory, and either way, I'm going to keep them very simple and random as I'm allowed to get.

I forgot to mention:
Although you guys don't have to do this, I do! Whenever I post an assignment that's for funsies, I will do the assignment myself so that even if you guys don't want to do it, you can laugh at my attempt of the assignment.
And with that, I shall begin making the first "Summer" assignment! (Calling it summer because school isn't started yet... you know how it is...)

Summer Assignment #1
Do you have opinions on everything? If so, you'll love this one, because it's all about favorites! Read on if you're interested!
Prompt
Draw a picture of your favorite animal, your favorite fruit, and lots and lots of your favorite color. But wait! That's not all! In the picture, at least one of the items (like a fruit, sure) must be doing your favorite activity!
Rules
-Your favorite fruit may not be Barack Obama
-If your animal is a cat, it may not be shown reading a newspaper upside-down
-The color pink is not allowed on Sundays after 9 pm
Must be submitted by:
Your favorite time to submit things
My completed assignment:
...and yes, avocados are my favorite fruit. :3
And my favorite thing to do is draw, in case you can't tell by the bad sketch of a graphics tablet. XP

Me.
Thanks for the suggestions, Hotwire! But I made these little banners in about five minutes, and personally, I like the simplicity that they have. Although I shall definitely remember your advice.
Nomolos, you've been accepted into the class. Please take the preassessment!
