I've been fortunate enough to be invited by the scratch team to preview the 2.0 beta.

They've set a goal for themselves to have something released by the end of this year (2012).  However, after spending a couple of weeks looking at it, I would say that it is FAR from being ready.  I think it would take a miracle to get all the missing features written and all the bugs fixed by the end of this year.

BTW, I am being VERY helpful to the scratch team.  I've filed dozens of bugs on the alpha site... both dealing with the editor, website, and message board.

an honest evaluation is just fine, its just that i never see alpha testers answering questions about 2.0

Yes, I thought you were being sarcastic.

Sorry if I misunderstood your intent.

(I'm very frustrated today as the 2.0 alpha editor is simply not working at all right now.)

Planned. But not quite official. Last time their planned release date was mid-2012 (or august or something)

i had a friend who told me that the st has been saying "in a few months" since 2009 :P

Which is true. BUT, if you sign up to be a tester (which rather obviously I did) then you'll get early access.

not necessarily, we have no idea how they select the next wave of testers
will they let everybody come in and test it or will they only pick a few?
