Mac using 10.5.5 - Scratch 1.3 Scratch Boards not working

Help...PLEASE - we recently upgraded our Macs to 10.5.5 and I updated Scratch, but now our Scratch boards won't wake up - I have monitored the board using the watcher and I never get it to state that it is on - I continually get "No serial ports found - Any ideas?

Re: Mac using 10.5.5 - Scratch 1.3 Scratch Boards not working

Hi, btennyson.

I am running Mac OS 10.5.5. on an Intel MacBook Pro. The Scratch sensor board works fine for me. I wonder if perhaps you need to re-install the driver for the USB-serial cable?

If you are comfortable with using the Terminal, you can try this command:

ls /dev | grep usb

When the cable is plugged in, I get:

cu.usbserial
tty.usbserial

When it isn't, I get nothing. If you don't see some entries when the cable is plugged in, chances are good that you do not have the driver installed.

If you need it, you can download the driver from:

Good luck!

I use MacBook Air (early 2008) with 10.5.6 and my PicoBoard is good.

Woo, even better minecraft clone! | I feel that programming is better than animation, because you can interact with games but not animations.
