Scratch

I opened scratch and spent 45 minutes tediously working on a project of mine that requires MANY coustume changes for a certain sprite (enough said). But right in the middle of working, I closed the tab, went to the washroom, came back, opened the tab and found the tab to be a solid grey colour, not able to load. Later still, I find that the tab has gone transparent, showing my desktop background through the window. I saved the project but have no idea where it ended up! I am very worried and need to ask if anyone has any troubleshooting advice.
