GIF files will not work as icons online
When I try to change my icon/picture to a GIF file it won't show or won't move. Even very short ones with just a few frames don't work! I think it is having trouble converting it to the right size. Do I have to do that? How? Is it the site that has the problem? I'm just wondering.

I have that problem a lot. Ok I only figured out what the problem was recently (from an MMORPG called Imperion Online). It must be the file size. If it is something like 100kb+ it won't work. I don't know he exact limit that the file size is, but I know that 100kb won't work. If it is a very low file size, then I have no idea why that is happening.

It probably would have been better to just make a new thread, but given he's having the same problem it's not the end of the world.
Like TimeFreeze said, it's probably the file size. If I remember correctly it has to be less than 90kb, so check the size of the GIF you're trying to upload by finding it in your file browser, right-clicking it and selecting 'properties.'
