iOS 6 came out recently. What do you think of the new software?
I just got it on my iPad. Clocks looks great!

I love it...but the clock app is just one of the many features, Safari is blazing fast!

Yeah, I know.
Is it me or is the battery running out quicker?

It's been announced for months...should have come as no surprise.

It came out?
Okay, how do I update my iPod touch 4g to it?

One way:
1. Plug iPod into computer with iTunes
2. Sync
3. check for newer software version
4. Download and update
5. Come back in an hour

I never said it was unexpected.
Nothing WOWs me.
My Mom said that the maps failed.

Update is just meh. I was anticipating the release and downloaded it within the first hour, but just wasn't impressed.
In case you haven't noticed, the YouTube app is gone and Google Maps is replaced by Apple's own app. An official YouTube app for iPhone is in the App Store, with an iPad version in the works.
At least half of the major changes aren't applicable to iPad. All the love gets put on the iPhone.
Siri is limited to the iPad 3. I actually sent a complaint to Apple on their choice of restricting Siri. It won't actually get Siri enabled on the iPad 2, and I should have vented on them a little more. Nobody is going to buy a new iPad just for Siri, and there are already enough superior features on the new iPad (Retina display, better processor, better cameras) that a stupid app isn't going to make a difference.

It took me about 4 ours to update for some reason.

ugh no 3d on ipod4g
? What do you mean "no 3d?"
Anyway, here's a rundown of my opinions based on Apple's What's New Page
Maps: Wow, 3D cities, that's great! If I lived in a city! >
Siri: Matrix Morpheus meme: What if I told you//A one year old device shouldn't be outdated?
Facebook: Oh joy, because just what everyone wants is to have random and stupid notifications on their news feed about what you do in iOS.
Shared Photo Streams: Oh, that's nice, another way to do what I could before with e-mail.
Passbook: Actually a good idea. No clue why you think this is only worth putting on iPhone.
FaceTime over cellular: Don't use FaceTime, don't have cellular. Snore.
Misc. Phone features: Great, more features that are useless to me.
Mail Updates: An actually useful update. If only there was some sort of tooltip to show what the heck those icons in the top meant...
Safari Updates: That's great, I still prefer Chrome.
Accessibility: Okay, useful to a limited group of people. Not me, not going to get me excited for the update.
Panorama Camera: Yeah, limit that stuff to iPhone as well, I didn't want to use the low-res camera on my iPad anyway.
Find My iPhone Updates: My iPad is either in my bag or in my hand. It never leaves my sight.
Find My Friends: Who the heck uses Find my Friends?
Remodeled Stores: Okay, these are pretty good. I don't use iTunes or iBooks store very much, but the App Store at least looks good.
14 Features.
6 actually impress me.
Out of those six that impress me, I can only use two of them.
2/14. Not impressive.

It sucks up battery life at least three times as fast as iOS 5. Other than that it's great.

He means no 3D city flyover.

I can imagine that Siri would be an awesome upgrade for iPad owners. I can't wait to try out the Maps app

I just got it. I like the new App Store, and the maps are somewhat better (although I don't get 3D, but there's always Google Earth), but it didn't really add that much. It took forever to load up (when I thought it was over, a new loading bar appeared ), too.

"This update requires 2.4 GB of free space to update."
WHY????????????
After seeing that, I deleted half my apps and STILL NOT ENOUGH.
I then resorted to this.
I did debate whether it was worth the effort of getting it, but when I discovered that it brings Siri to iPod, it was a no-brainer.

It only brings Siri to the upcoming iPod touch 5th Generation.

I'm not willing to buy a new iPod touch just for siri. Actually what I am thinking of is selling my iPod touch 4-gen and then get an iPhone 4S without the phone service. On Apple's website they said that an iPhone 4S w/out phone service only costs a hundred bucks. That's a lot cheaper than what I got my iPod for.

An unlocked 4S for $100? I'm pretty sure they cost something like $600 O.o

You, my friend are kistaken; an iPhone 4S with a two year contract is $99, and with the monthly plan, that's a whole lot more than your iPod.
For no phone service, you're looking at $549.
