Greetings!
I have just downloaded Scratch 1.4 for Mac (I have used it before on PC without issue), and I have encountered a strange problem. When I attempt to make a new sprite and check the sound folder, it appears to be empty. When I try to use the "Play Sound" function, the drop down menu is empty save for "record..." If I go in to the sound folders through Finder, however, I do see a large list of sound files in mp3 and wav format. I have tried downloading new sound bites in to the sounds folder, but Scratch does not identify those ones either.
Can anyone offer any suggestions as to why Scratch might now be acknowledging all those sound files?
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Greg Anthony

the "sounds" tab you see is the local sounds for that sprite. to acess sounds from the actual sound folder on your computer, you need to click "import", then you will be able to access your sounds.

First of all, you have to upload the sound to the sounds tab under each sprite or else scratch won't recongnise the sound. From there, you'll be able to use the sound as you want, but not till then.
Also, just to tell you, scratch can be touchy with .mp3's, so if a .mp3 sound glitches, you will want to use the .wav version of it.

Ah, of course!
Thanks guys, I don't know how I missed that. I hope you both have a good one!
