Modification on Scratch

Hello,

I know there is a scratch modification called (S4A) to interface to Arduino boards. I would like to know how this "modification" takes place. More specifically:

1 - Is scratch source code available? I could not find its code for download.
2 - would it be possible to simply create na extension to scratch to support additional hardware intead of making a new scratch version (like S4A) is the way to go?

I would like to make scratch support another micro controller platform to expose some sensors and actuators.

Thank you,

Igor.

Re: Modification on Scratch

I don't fully understand all of your question, but the Scratch source code can be viewed (and modified) by shift-clicking the "R" in the Scratch logo (in the upper-left corner)

Re: Modification on Scratch

I see what you mean!
I had the same Idea!
You see, weall think that scratch should be able to be modded in your own way, using addons. we are working on making a scratch mod that would do this. It involves importing a dll and getting a block for each function. If you are interested in helping, or dont understand the process, please contact me! The micro controller wouldent happen to be the picaxe, would it?
