No, no, you can't do that! Hobbes is what adds the charm to the strip. Garfield Minus Garfield worked out because Garfield's a horrible strip in the first place.

It would be better as Calvin and Hobbes - Calvin because Calvin is the most talkative/necessary for the narration.
