A while back I posted this thread about a Chinese book about Scratch. Apparently, it's actually a comic book aimed at teaching kids about Scratch. How awesome.
Now there's an English version out there (if anyone is interested in getting it, it's available here), and a sample of one of the chapters was also released as a preview. Apparently, there's an evil wizard, a group called the Cosmic Defenders, the name of sprite fanatasy11 is "Fabu", and Scratch Cat's name is really "Scratchy" and he knows kung fu.

That's definitely one of the more bizarre things I've seen. Gobo looks really cool though :3

That's what you get when you're a mascot, your own comic book

Neo-Cat. Nice.
If you check out the availability page I put in the first post, there's a zip file of the Scratch games associated with the book - you can download it and get the Neo-Cat sprite (and bunch of others found in the book. Harry Potter - I mean Harry Catter - for the win).

Yep. I think one might be more effective in getting kids to learn. It reads less like a textbook and more like a cool action comic.

Uploaded those download's to an alt, but it looks like nostarch actually has put them on Scratch, so anyone wanting an easily accessible online version of the projects can get them there.

someone totally needs to animate this
Agreed. A video animation with video tutorials would be pretty cool to market to the public, eh? *nudges nostartch publishers*
