Which Zelda game should I get first?

Most of them look pretty good, but I don't know which one I should start with. I have a DSi (I know some are for 3DS so I figured I should throw that out there) and a Wii.

Start with the original or Ocarina Of Time.

Re: Which Zelda game should I get first?

every official entry is a solid game but I would recommend the newest, Skyward Sword Because it's the best Wii entry. Really good motion controls and story.

I think both systems you have have the first on virtual console

Is Skyward Sword only on Wii? It's not an issue, it's just that my brother and his neighbor friends really like the Wii.

Yeah, just Wii.

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are for DS, but I've seen more average reviews for them as opposed to load of praise for Skyward Sword/Ocarina of Time (in remake on 3ds only so I'd have to suggest pirating  hmm )

I'd say Skyward Sword. It was my first.

I would but my cousin's stepmom made them give it away shortly after she married their dad. Still makes me upset. We had so much fun with that when we were just little kids!

Ugh, before I go off into a rant and get really upset, have you tried it on the Wii?

no i have not, but i hate the wiimote. id rather sit and press buttons than swing my arms frenziedly about trying to get the wii to differentiate between horizontal and vertical motion

Yeah, I do too, but there's something you can use as an alternative to it that is sort of similar to the Gamecube remote. Sort of.

but that doesn't feel right in your hands

the gamecube has these nice prongs you can hold onto and it feels natural in your palms

Skyward Sword. It's the best. And the first chronologically.

Wii remote works best for Twilight Princess because you can move and swing at the same time, even though it doesnt exactly track your movements, it can do it mildly, and it's actually some pretty good detection. Plus, you can aim better, and hold 3 items in the item slots, instead of 2. It's better, trust me.

It's my birthday. Deal with it.

Re: Which Zelda game should I get first?

I recomend Ocarina of Time on VC. OoT is the easiest to get into in my opinion. Then you can try Skyward Sword, it's the best in the series, but for some reason I find it a bit harder than OoT.

If you want something to do while Scratch is down, check out tbgs.tk! It's the new version of the (closed) Scratch TBGS, run by Scratchers! I'm going to spend most of my time there, anyway.
