Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

Rygar - Arcade, NES, C64, Atari Lynx, Virtual Console (I know there are more ports, but I see these at the most significant)

Rygar is a side scrolling platformer. Rygar was first released on arcade in 1986. A year later it was released on Commodore 64 and NES. It was then released on Atari Lynx in 1988 and made its final appearance on virtual console in 2009.

Rygar is a dead warrior who has come back to life to defeat the evil being Ligar, who has taken over the land of Argool. Rygar's weapon, the Diskarmor, is a Disk with a rope or chain of some sort that he can throw and retrive, like captain america's shield.

The controls are awesome and when you die it seems justified. Enemies spawn extremely quickly, and the player has only 100s per life to defeat a level. This makes the game feel as though you must go through as quickly as possible, which is the case. One mention that I must make is that the Huge blue titan things on every 4th level are so hard. I have never defeated one, I just lose a life and go on when he despawns. Aside from that, this game is easily in my top 10 arcade games.

8/10

Also - Rik408, where are you?

I was in New Orleans for the superbowl too.
That genesis article should've stated how SNES had way better tech. Processing was the one of the only places where the genesis excelled.

I have a SNES article for this issue, I was saving it. I'm going through all the big consoles each issue.

Okay, if they don't just pick a random game out your collection. If you don't have much to say about that one, then try another.

Okay, here are the rules. Try to make one article/review a week, (you can make more if you want), put the review/article in a post on this forum and I will put it in the magazine. Try to get everything in for Thursday for the upload on Friday. You can put it up on Friday, but I might not get it in time.

Can you please do a WII U hardware review and maybe a game? The following WII U games have already been reviewed: Nintendo Land, Mario U and Tekkan Tag 2. You don't have to do this, I am just suggesting this to start you off. Thanks.

Press Start to Play

Up 2 Speed Article
Best Racing franchises:
Gran Turismo: A realistic Driving Simulator with actual crashing, tire and fuel wear, speed control and more!
Burnout: Another realistic Driving Simulator in a video game town with realistic abilities and unrealistic jumps and more (as seen in Burnout Paridise (lat game since 2008)
Need for Speed: First seen on the 3DO Multiplayer Gaming System that is also realistic, but you don't get dents and your fuel and tires don't wear down and you don't freely roam, so it's more like... you know.
ModNation: Famous for creating race tracks any way you want it to be like, just like it's younger brother, Little Big Planet Karting!

WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT WE WILL SAY!

Activision: WHY?! WHY DID YOU PUT GUITAR HERO ON HOLD?! Everybody wants to see an updated version of the game with a Guitar Hero 7. JUST DO IT! WE ARE ALL WAITING!
Gamefreak: Do you think you can make a Pokemon game for Wii U? Maybe a Wii U version of Pokemon X and Y?
Nintendo: Kirby needs a 3DS title, he's complaining like crazy for a 3DS title.
Halfbrick Studios: Congragulations on making JetPack Joyride a PSN title. Can you make Wii U Game Pad functionality and show Nintendo how its done with your Fruit Ninja Game for Wii U? I WOULD KILL FOR ONE RIGHT NOW!

(Insert Sonic Adventure 2 Title Screen Here)

Sorry for not being in for Issue 11.

Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

Team Fortress 2
Platform(s): PC, Mac, Linux (Also for Xbox 360 & PS3 as part of the Orange Box)
Release date: 10th October 2007, F2P: 23rd June 2011

Team Fortress 2, like Portal, started off as a Half-Life mod. It has become one of the largest Free-to-play games.

It is a fast paced team based first person shooter, but the 'cartoony' style of graphics give it any extra charm.

As with all free to play games, there are micro-transactions, to buy a weapon, hat or item. Unlike other free to play games, however, you can 'find' all of the items in-game. This means that it is not 'pay-to-win', paying is just a  shortcut to getting the items you want.

TF2 is a very enjoyable game, and it is free for everyone (unless you choose to put money into it)

8/10
