FILE DAMAGED KEY NOT FOUND
I was putting actual effort into this project and it died on me :L
It was full of sarcasm and everything
This has happened before
Any way to get my project back
Any way whatsoever

1) Go see a psychiatrist or whatever they're called
Killing something over Scratch isn't normal C:
2) When did it happen? Just when you opened the file or it just randomly popped up?

I fear I would kill the psychiatrist
And uh
When you try to open the file, halfway through reading it it gives you the "File can't be read key not found" sort of thing

I'm clueless as to what might be happening, but have you tried reinstalling scratch? That might help.

Hm okay
Try opening another project to make sure it's not a problem with the program, unless you've already tried that in which case I don't really know

Hmmmm
Did you do anything unusual?

Nope
Finished with the bit I was doing
Clicked X
Saved
Waited for it to finish saving
Shut down computer
I recreated most of what I had, but I'd still rather get the original back if at all possible
But I don't believe so

Try opening it up in the Scratch 2.0 alpha

Actually, I do believe you. And that's bizarre.
Look at the file in Wordpad to see if it starts with ScratchV02.

I tried to look at it in Notepad for no apparent reason but it didn't do anything except freeze up
I'll try Wordpad
Wow lots of cool symbols

I might be able to fix it if I have the project.

How could I get it to you though
Public Dropbox.
I think it's gone though. I've never heard of a way to get it back once this happened. :'(

Wow!
I know what you're talking about. This used to happen to my brother a lot.
I think this fixes the problem (I'm not sure, it's been a while):
Don't close Scratch RIGHT after it appears that it's done saving (the growing rectangle outline). I don't know why, but this fixed it. Wait like 10-30 seconds and THEN close Scratch.
It could be that Scratch shows the saving animation WHILE it's still saving and it still has to take a few extra seconds or so to save the rest of the little bitty chunks. I have no idea, but I think that's why it says "key damaged" or whatever.
Hope this helps
