The Outsiders isn't rare or out of print. You should be able to find it in a library or bookstore. I would strongly reommend it as it's my favorite book of all time. The movie was good, but not great. And the "complete novel" edition, which is the one I like uses surf rock in completely inappropriate places (like the fire scene; a dramatic, emotional scene that's paired with music for a beach party).

I found the whole Dark Knight trilogy in my grandpa's DVD collection and he let me borrow (along with Rushmore and The Shawshank Redemption). I haven't gotten around to watching the other two yet, but Batman Begins definitely got me interested.

Saw American Beauty yesterday. It was an amazing experience, and one of the best I've ever had with a film, as well as one of the most awkward.
