I didn't think it was really famous before I saw your post earlier, but yeah, it's a cool place and I loved the chocolate place. San Fransisco is merely a drive, I've been at least four times.

Arches national park (cool rock formations in UT)
Colorado national monument (also cool formations)
Grand Canyon (or so I'm told; I don't remember)
Crater lake; Mt. St. Helens; Four corners
Historic Military site- Fort Stevens (does that count?)
Indianapolis 500 raceway
Disneyland; Legoland
...and the items on the list keep getting smaller
Never been overseas, but I have been to Pier 39, and have seen Alcatraz
Oh yeah, I've been to
Magic mountain (Theme park in CA)
and Six flags: Discovery Kingdom, also in CA
And the Great Salt lake, and the Mormon Temple there
Oh, and the space needle in Seattle
