Well, when the game project is running, it takes a lot more energy for Scratch to run properly, so pressing the red stop sign or clicking on the "stop all" block" will stop executing the scripts and the project should run fine. 
Everything is better when you add a little cheddar, because when you have cheese your life is at ease
