Yeah I think it's cool that people team up to make projects but why call them companies? These groups don't have commercial interests. I think it would be more appropriate to call them crews or clubs or unions or something else.

I agree. Those would be better names. Most (or all) of the "companies" on Scratch are based on Crank inc, the first one, so they use Crank inc's word for it.
