Still have a whole bunch of full-color icons, but the b&w ones look fantastic!
p.s. yeah, that's rocketdock. love it!
edit: I can't style the recycle bin, is there a way to change its icon?
Awesome! Sometimes I convert my whole Mac to B&W for the fun of it
And yes, you can style the recycling bin... I think you right click on the desktop and click properties, then choose one of the tabs... it should be there somewhere. I can't check because I'm not on an XP right now

Is objectdock better?
I've never tried anything else, but I like it. I was trying to "Mac" an old XP PC.
Yea, I've done that too, but apparently the computer was too slow and couldn't handle the 'fancy' graphics of rocketdock. I mean it only had like 256MB of RAM, out of with only 192MB was functioning and it had no graphics card I knew of
@wolvesstar97: No, that's just Windows 7 with the taskbar at the top, and a third-party dock installed

Mine's a family computer so it's embarrassingly cluttered and hideous.

Mine is going to be really, really different... assuming I can get Lubuntu on that usb stick I have laying around.
edit: installing lubuntu right now! probably about 5-10 minutes TOPS assuming it can boot and I don't need to mess with the bios.
editedit: "Installation done, process is COMPLETE!" now to boot it...
editeditedit: boots into windows first, not lubuntu, bios is password protested. !@#$%^&*
editediteditedit: just asked dad for the bios password, hope he'll tell me

I drew the wallpaper my own dang self, too. That's basically the limit of my desktop customization skills.
Most of the icons I don't even use
THAT IS AN AWESOME DRAWING

Let meh explain it. First, I found the background on the Sevenforums, they have some epic Windows 7 wallpapers. Second, I changed the boring Windows 7 (and Vista) start button orb with a new, orb (that didn't mess up my computer ) provided by some Start Button Orb Changer (caps because I think that's what it's actually called ). Everything else (clock at the top, recycle bin, notes, battery life, etc.) is a program called Rainmeter with a combination of themes called Illustro and Razor. Your desktop just is not complete without Rainmeter. It is like the sidebar/gadgets that come with Vista and 7, but there are much larger possibilities, and it doesn't lag your computer. If you don't have it, get it. Now. You just have to. (If you can't tell, I like parentheses ) Oh man, I typed a lot.

I have 3 web browsers because of some HTML testing I do.
You simply MUST get IE too -- it's terrible, but most people use it still, so you want to make sure that it works in there too.

Since he has Windows XP, it comes with IE. (Unfortunately, Microsoft made it so you can only run up to like version 7 or 8 [I forget] without Windows Vista or 7.)

Yeah, I have IE, but I don't like it cluttering up my desktop with its terribleness.
